"While Mortensen was the second in Harbaugh's lineage — after Harbaugh guided Rich Gannon to a near-MVP season with the Oakland Raiders in 2002 as a QB coach — every quarterback has played at his highest level under Harbaugh. At San Diego with Josh Johnson, at Stanford with T.C. Ostrander, Tavita Pritchard and Andrew Luck, and the San Francisco 49ers with Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick.
