The thing is... Once team's find out you are a special team's ace sometimes it's difficult to shake that box they put you in.

Mostert has always had the ability. But you're right that he won't find the same level success per rush in another system.

I don't think so. He has quickness, speed, a downhill running style, explodes through holes and can take it to the house.

He never got the opportunity. He would easily have success anywhere. I seriously believe he can hit 2000 yards if given 15 carries a game.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do believe that he's better than people give him credit for. Saying that he is a product of Shanahan's system implies that he is easily replaceable, but out of all of the RBs that Shanahan has had since coming here, Mostert has performed the best by far.

I love Mostert. Ideally, what I'd like to happen is that Hasty or Ahmed knocks out one of the veterans and makes it on the 53, and while his star is rising, next season - trade Mostert for some desperate bottom feeding team that is willing to give up a high round draft pick for him and pay him hall of fame money (like Buckner). Again, I love Mostert, but I agree he's a product of the Shanahan system and while he's a fantastic RB for Shanny, I know if somebody gives up a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him (defer to NY85) Kyle can turn that draft pick in to say 3 or 4 fifth round picks for us in the future.

I can see Kyle using maybe a 4th or 5th round pick on an even *FASTER* RB than Mostert for his offense.

There are valid points to be made about Mostert being a product of KS's offense.

But at the same time, he's easily been the best performing RB against the top defenses. Not sure that should be discounted.

I have no problem trying to find more RB talent and rotate them all, etc...but I don't want to see Mostert gone so soon.

He didn't rush for 220+ and 4 TDs in the NFC Championship because he played for KC, he did it with us throwing it 8 times........fluke or not, that has to be respected.

Much more than say Matt Flynn throwing 480 in a garbage week 17 game for Green Bay....
