I wonder if we offered the number 2 pick in the draft to Denver for the number 10 pick+Bradley Chubb if they'd do it? Denver could then guarantee getting Haskins, and we get a pass rusher we need, and can then look to add another top end talent with the number 10 pick, or look to trade down a little more, and get more picks in this years draft and next year?
They would most likely trade von miller than they would chubb at this point. But like someone already mentioned, this draft doesnt have the qb prospects like in 2012.

No reason to deal Mullens right now, he will only make $570K, then in 2020 he'd be a ERFA, he isn't a UFA until the 2022 offseason, could be our version of Jimmy G, develop him as a capable backup who we deal for a high pick.

I agree his contract is very team friendly, but we have a lot of holes to fill. What trade offer would make you change your mind?

how the hell do you NOT know that??
Free agency or no free agency, and I don't mean to offend any fans (especially of Mullen) but if you see him more than just an adequate backup, you need to get your eyes checked.
I'm happy the kid's on our team, but to say, or imagine he getting money to be a starter for any teams, we may be talking about AAFL here..

We only have 2 years of control on Beathard, but we can control Mullens for 3 more years on the cheap. I am hoping someone sees Beathard as a good cheap back up option, and we can get a 6th or 7th for him, and roll with Mullens as the back up, and then look at UDFA for another project QB that Shanahan can develop on the PS.
I trust Mullens more if Jimmy goes down again, and getting any pick for CJ is a bonus when we're short on picks this year.

It is pretty damn early to say that is all he will ever be. It will agree that is all he is right now.

To say he's just a capable back up is kind of a lazy term if you ask me, he looked far better than Josh Rosen who was a top 10 pick.

I think because Elway, Elwayed last year..... He went with Flacco, who has started for years and won the superbowl, versus signing another overachieving backup. (Could possibly be a starter in the league, I will conceed that)
Possibly taking the "less" risky path with Flacco, was smarter than going with Mullens. I mean, who would sign and overpay a guy who was a backup, had a few good starts.....and then make him your franchise QB.

looks can be deceiving..
I'm pretty sure you put both QBs on the table and the only people who would take Mullen over Rosen are 49ers blind-fans.

3rd string nobody Mullens had a better record with a worse team in 2018 than did Flacco. Flacco's ceiling is well known, low, and is made of carbon fiber. Denver won't go anywhere with him. Mullens was effectively a rookie who could wind up back as a nobody, but his ceiling is as yet unknown. When your offense is as bad as Denver's is, but you have a playoff caliber + defense, I'd much rather have Mullens.

I couldn't agree more. Flacco is a C+ QB on his good days

Basing both off last season, yes I would take Mullens over Rosen. Rosens two wins vs the 9ers was help from Beathard.
We'll see where both are at in three years.

why trade Mullens when he's the only capable backup on the roster?
Jimmy G is fragile, and could get hurt again.
