It started with Juice making the first turnover. And then the pressure up front by the Rams. It got Mullens thinking he should do more to overcome the 14pt hole, with most of his usual receivers injured. And then Wilson went down.

He did well just to survive to play into the second half

I concur

Taking into consideration his starting offensive personnel, he did as well as you can expect.

One of the main things Nick needs to do is not get too excited the moment he sees his guys get wide the f**k open.

Watching him this year it seems he throws flat footed? It also may be that he can't step up into the pocket because of the pressure from the interior of our line.

Maybe nothing, just something I seemed to notice these past couple of weeks.

there were more then a few snaps were the center was being pushed back into him as he dropped back.

Mullens needs to work on his foot speed if there is one real legit knock on Mullens...he does not get back in the pocket near fast enough.

You can blame the line to some extent..but all season long Mullens does look average at best on his back peddle.

That first half was rough yesterday. Yes he kept getting hit but we on multiple occasions was throwing into obvious double teams.

I'm glad he rebounded in the 2nd half.

Shoulda gotten the snap and haul ass away from Donald.

Too slow from center... lol
Have to say only 1 of those int's were totally his fault. He was getting nailed either right when or just after releasing the ball. Rebounded nicely later, which shows his mental toughness. His physical toughness was on display by him just getting up after those hits! Always liked him better than CJ and still do.
We should just go ahead and trade Mullins for three 1st round draft picks.

Opened the door for a qb comp for this preseason with that awful last game.

There was always gonna be competition between him and cj, they're gonna see a lot of preseason action

Mullen's deserve to get another contract..

Absolutely!

From someone else. No way hes resigning here as a backup. He earned a shot starting somewhere, and will take it if we don't trade him.
We control Mullens for like 2-3 more years. He isn't going any where, unless we trade him. Personally I hope both Mullens and CJ do good this pre season, and we can trade CJ for a late round 2020 draft pick, and roll with Jimmy and Mullens as our 1-2.

49ers have him under team control for the next few seasons. Absolutely no reason for the team to be in a hurry to trade him. It would make sense for them to first start developing another QB behind him.
