They can claim hoyer or claim kizer

In the 10 1/4 years that he was a starter, Joe Flacco missed 6 games in 2015.

The Broncs know they just need a warm body.
Teams that need a backup QB:

Seahawks
Broncos
Colts
Packers?
Vikings?
Jaguars?
They probably looking for OL's they can trade Beathard for now rather than just future conditional draft picks.

Dont hate CJ... just dont want him on this roster anymore. Reminds me of when we finally got Roman (the DB) off the roster and it was a sign of actual depth at the position.

A lot of teams probably felt he would only keep two and they could pick up whichever one was released rather than spend a future draft pick on one of the two. Now that neither have been released, we will see what the market really thinks.

My guess is we see a trade next week.

I don't get why some fans fail to understand this. QB's are the most valuable assets in football, even the backups. There is a reason that the likes of Henne, Hogan, and tons of other failed QB's keep getting recycled year after year.

Why get rid of CJ for a backup like Exum, Lee, Toran or Wilson Jr.? He's guaranteed to be on another team the second we release him because he can make all the throws, is athletic, has solid size, and doesn't make a bunch of dumb decisions. His biggest weakness is that he needs to speed up his decision making to cut down on the sacks and missed windows of guys being open. Once he starts to trust his eyes he has the tools to be a quality starter in this league or at worst a solid backup that can spot start if needed.

There are teams out there who run much less complex offenses than the one CJ has been learning and getting starts in, so it's kind of ridiculous to think he'd be out of the league if KS wasn't playing favorites. Josh freaking Johnson just secured a spot on a team's 53!
I mean he's good enough to lose you games and not get your team too embarrassed so there's that.

If you don't care about actually winning.

How many wins were you expecting from a mid round QB?

People bad mouth both our talent and all the injuries we suffered these last couple seasons, but then expect a young QB to lift up the offense and lead this team to wins like he's a Rodgers or Wilson type talent. Only a handful of QB's in this league can mask such problems.

Sounds perfect for Denver. Their defense is getting better. Especially with Chubb on his second year.

They won a super bowl with Peyton Manning and Osweiler as their QBs. That year Peyton threw 9 td and 17 picks. Along with a 59 completion percentage.

I think people are more upset that we kept him on the roster when we have a better backup QB. And had to cut some players that could've made an impact in order to keep him. But if the plan is to trade him then I support it .

I'd be surprised even for Elway if he spends a draft pick on some scrub backup. Flacco's missed 6 games in his career as a starter, all in 2015, and the Broncs only need a backup until Lock comes back (8 weeks minimum).
Keeping both Mullens and CJ around makes me nervous as to what Kyle thinks of Jimmy G.

Damn we need a franchise qb and if none of these guys is it?

Feck.

Completely agree.

If it were me I would rather have a rookie or second year player who you don't know how he will act when put into action.

You may get lucky and find a diamond in the rough.

This is more preferable IMHO than having a guy you know is just good enough to lose you games. I mean with the 3rd string qb the season is over so you might as well see if you find a rookie or new player who is a surprise rather than a known failure.

Just my opinion.

This is if you even keep a 3rd qb as a spot.

They cut Hogan, and Lock needs a lot of work before he is reliable. What do they do if Flacco gets hurt before the 9th game?

Obviously they need a backup. They just don't need to spend anything to get one. As far as that backup ever seeing the field, you mean, if Flacco gets hurt for the second time of his twelve year career?
