Mullens value to us I'd put at a third. He can win games but Shanahan believes Beathard can too, which isn't entirely wrong to think. Beathard got almost zero help in the games he played last year. It would be unfair to pin everything on him, considering many players made critical mistakes to costs us games he otherwise would have gotten a win in.

I don't see getting a 3rd for an UDFA

4-5 maybe

Broncos may be out, but the Colts may be another team to trade with

Pretty arrogant of fans to assume it is a "Kyle pride" issue. More like a "not just going to give him away for free" issue. Given our FQB's penchant for injury and our weak depth on the offensive line, it makes sense to me that we would want to cover our bases at backup. I remember the 49ers always having 3 QB's back in the day. At one point we had two FQB's, but that is anomalous. Beathard is our modern equivalent to Steve Bono.

Wrong adjective to describe one, though significant, injury.

Perhaps, but I was including previous years as well.

I think talent-wise he can etch his name among the top QB's in 49ers' history as long as he stays healthy.
Is Beathard better than Hoyer, Geno Smith, Brock Osweiler, Kizer and every other QB that's available in free agency?

If the answer is "no" to any of them than I don't see how we can trade Beathard.

He is to KS and that's all that matters.

Shanny is slow playing the QB spot.

A lot of teams probably felt he would only keep two and they could pick up whichever one was released rather than spend a future draft pick on one of the two. Now that neither have been released, we will see what the market really thinks.

My guess is we see a trade next week.

With the Broncos cutting 2 QB's, I thought for sure there was a trade in place. They currently have no backup with Lock injured.

I'm thinking they sign Brock or Hoyer.
