CJ has matured into a pretty darn good NFL qb. Was getting killed back there. At least one of those picks wasn't on him. San Diego scored points on like 5 straight drives. He is one tough kid
I don't think either of the INT's are on him. Pass protection failed him on the 2nd one.

First one hit the TE in the hand so it's hard to fault him but I really wish he would have hit Morris in the flat. Rivers did it time after time to us. He was uncovered an it was first down.

Bad luck on the int though.

True. But I blame BeatHard for hitting his receiver in the hands. That's the first issue. Haha.

On a side note, every defense should know when we get into the RZ, that's when we target Celek time. The clock might be broken.

My initial look at the play in game was he missed the back in the flat wide open on a spot concept. Looking at it though, Celek needs to make that catch and I'm less inclined to blame the QB. However, a back that wide open on a spot concepts is stealing.
CJ is a gamer. Calm in the pocket. Makes his read. Let it rip. No hesitation. Accurate. Jimmy's release is lighting speed, but Beathard's release ain't too shabby. Whether through 2 offseasons in the offense or taking a page out of Jimmy's MO--he just stand and scan---then BAM!

Jimmy Who

He needs to stay healthy though. Those hits OMFG!

Well said cciowa. CJ was the best player on the field. Period. Maybe Kittle is in that argument.

i was pleased with kittle. they should have some chemistry as they both wore that disgraceful flea infected iowa jersey all those years. the second tight end is were we need a serious upgrade in my opinion

remember when a few weeks ago people in here were wanting us to go with Mullens as the #2 lol
Dude reminds me of Jeff Garcia
Could've won the game. CJ was moving the ball methodically with time on the clock before that last Sack/INT

side track for a bit... given cj is the new starter do you think he gets most of practice reps . do you think nick gets alot in practice . do you think after the scare of cj going down yesterday the coaches will increase the work load of the kid? do you think the team will bring a qb like last week and sign one.. i did not mean to put you under the gun?? lol. just wondering aloud as long as you brought up the kid

kylef**ked us by burning our time outs. the pick was not on him in my opinion but bottom line. we found a way to lose a winnable game

C J looks fine for a backup for a few games but to rely on him for the rest of the season is asking a lot. Still I'm sure he can show flashes here and there to at least make the games entertaining. He works well with Kittle who is a real up and comer. Great speed for a tight end and he seems to be improving.
