Jalen Ramsey

Spoon comes back we have 3 shutdown corners. Ramsey follows the best receiver on the field. I could see not doing this trade if we were far away from a ring but this team is a legit contender. Adding Ramsey only puts us that much closer to a Super Bowl. Who knows if spoon will even continues playing the way he was playing.

Ramsey is a great player and would make our defense elite but would make signing Buckner and Kittle difficult, if not impossible. We need to keep our D-line and the best TE in the league. Ramsey would be a great addition, but our core is more important.

It's far from impossible but also you gotta remember you don't have to Resign Ramsey to an extension. It's basically a 2 year rental and hope you win a ring, kinda like they do in baseball. Ramsey hasn't even complained about his contract, all he ever said was "I just wanna f**** win" I say go out and get the best corner in the NFL and give yourself the best chance to win a ring.
Draft picks or a ring?? You pick

We can afford to pay Buck about 20 a year. Kittle 11 a year and Ramsey 16 a year.

We already have a little over 20 this year which is enough for Buck if we had to give him one this year(which we don't since it kicks in 2020 or 2021). for the rest we Just have to make a few adjustments like cutting jet. And Cap should go up another 6 or 7 mil. Plus kittles wouldn't kick in until 2021.

Saving 4.8 on jet next years and 4.5 on Ward is almost what we'd have to pay Kittle each year.and we'd save another 7.2 mil from jet in 2021. Very doable

Plus you can always restructure Jimmy G. Convert his salary into a signing bonus. That can free up to $18 mil.

And Sherman is a free agent after the 2020 season freeing up another 10 million. Since 2013 the league salary cap has went up 10+ million each year.
I love it how we lose one significant starter each game.
This is gonna hurt our defense. Witherspoon is having somewhat of a breakout season. I have no faith in Verrett - NONE!! I hope that we role help Verrett's way, and that the passrush stays consistent to mask the loss of Witherspoon. Hopefully it won't be a whole month.

This team and injuries is just too aggravating.

It's not like we have a one year window. Who knows if Ramsey would be lights out for this team and buys in since we are getting into speculation. See Nmandi Asomougha with the Raiders vs. everyone else.

I'd like to see what we can do, as assembled, in big games, before we go away giving up picks. Also, it is going to be extra important for us to have good players are rookie deals for the next several years. Then there's that O-line thing. Keep the 2020 draft in tact.

I do. He was great, but he came in cold after not playing for YEARS. Now they have two weeks to really get him worked in. He will not look like Mike Rumph 2.0 out there.

I'd rather keep Spoon than go after Ramsey and disrupt the team chemistry.
We have s**t luck with injuries. Akhello was playing like a top tier corner. Hope he makes it back soon.

The key word that you stated is "WAS"! Verrett was great, before his college of injuries and retirement contemplation. And, I don't think he's a particularly good fit for this scheme, but that's just MHO. In any event, Verrett isn't as good as he use to be. So, you spoke of his talents in the proper tense.
We'll see if Moseley can keep up the success he's had in limited action. He looked like a playmaker going back to his first action in the pre-season in 2018 and he's a highly athletic corner who can really move. Also has that same kind of fiery attitude that Sherman has.

We've all seen his speed and tackling ability on special teams already. Kid can play inside and out and with continued growth, would give us three starting caliber CBs.

You're right about not giving away picks. They're important if you want to keep your team together and stay under the cap. I'm also pretty sure the same people that want to trade that #1 next year would be complaining about not addressing the O line in the draft. We probably wouldn't be able to address it in free agency either because of the cost of signing Ramsey.

Good stuff.

I also say keep the draft in tact and solidify the team from there. This team is playing well but the goal is the playoffs and it's current roster can make it there. The Super Bowl is quite aways. Keep building.
