That is not enough for a conviction, now that California has legalized pot. Smelling weed is only circumstantial.

8 games. If Zeke got 6 without even being charged and no guns or weed then i think Foster is looking at 8 games.
Zeke also had his titty reveal on tape which was all over the place. He also didn't have a woman straight up saying she was trying to ruin his career.
Think of it this way.
His gf basically said "I'm going to lie and kill your career"
NFL basically says "Let us help you out with that"
The chic in the Zeke case was found to have texts saying she was lying. I'm really not sure how much the titty reveal had to do with it. That was bad for Zeke. And I think being on the Cowboys hurt him as well. But this chic in the Foster case has no credibility. She's telling 2 different stories. You can easily argue she's only saying that after being paid off. Now that's where the video comes into play. If that backs her 2nd story then I would agree with you. But what if the tape doesn't? The person over Zeke's case recommended him not be suspend and Roger did anyway. I think Roger will suspend Foster regardless just b/c of the bad optics unless that tape totally clears him. In that case I'd say 2 for the guns and 1 game for the weed. I don't think the NFL care's about his career. They care about public relations and the bigger picture.

He'll be back sooner than that. Probably, gets 6 games then has it reduced to 4.

And straight into the blue tent.

As for the gun violation, this is not Aldon Smith...who had a gun in his suitcase or something like that in the airport. Another time he said the word BOMB in the airport and someone, a law enforcement or TSA guy, heard him. Also Reuben is not the NYG WR(?) who carried a gun into a bar/nite club and then proceeded to shoot himself in the groin. (Really). Reuben is a guy from another state having a weapon in his house . (Yes it was loaded, but i don't know if one was in the chamber or not). So the DA can run with this gun violation all he wants but this is an entirely different kettle of fish from the Aldon gun episodes. Also another time Aldon had a party , it got out of hand and he touched off a cap in the middle of all the revelers. (Really). again, this was NOT Reuben.
Now, if the DA really has no case with the recant, and i were Reuben's atty, i would certainly consider mentioning to him that his client just wants this to go away, and he will have no intention of saying anything about the case nor the DA in public....which if Reuben did nothing wrong, he might make some verbal complaints about the DA later. IF i were reuben's Atty, i would tell him Reuben just wants this behind him and not a word gets repeated hereafter. Just want the DA to know that and that there are no hard feelings in an otherwise bizarre case.
Also i would repeat the Aldon episodes and let the DA know that this is NOT Aldon #2.
Then, i think ,i would go home and start saying the beads..and hope this goes away. Also as has already happened, Reuben just needs reminding if he even J walks again he is adios. And not just from here but anywhere. Then, i think, i would go home and repeat saying the beads.

The wildcard here is the 'Bama case, which I think but don't know will amount to nothing - conviction, fine, probation within the state of AL. I don't care about weed anyway.
Suspension? There are two criminal cases forthcoming with Reuben Foster as the defendant in two different states, 3 felonies and 1 misdemeanor. But Goodell sees the $ from a renewed LA Rams-Niners rivalry. He's not messing with anybody's cornflakes if he can help it. But again, there's been the big push for female TV viewers in the last couple decades and DV criminal charges don't fly well.
In a week we'll have soooo much more resolution. Suspension? Goodell? Another pot charge that will stick? Could be a game. Could be a year.
Maybe if the team allows him to show up again someday that will be a good sign. He'll need practice but he's better than everybody else in the back 7 anyway so that wouldn't take long.

I think any suspension he gets will be for the pot in Alabama.

This. I don't know what his status in the substance abuse program is after failing his test at the combine, but that will determine his suspension. If they tried suspending him over the DV charges, he would just get the alleged victim to testify at his appeal. Doubt they want that.

Why?!?! Why would Foster owe him that grace, why does the DA deserve that? No way in hell I'd stand quiet after being falsely accused, maliciously gone after by the State, have me name run through the mud publicly, and suffer a likely suspension over it (losing money and prep time with my team and coaches), but yet remain quiet! Fuk that sh*t, if it were me, since imma be suspended anyway, I'd be openly voicing my displeasure and "hard feelings" at every opportunity. And I'd spare no words doing so!
