I know that's where he's best bro. But I think you missed the point of my post.

Just want to see him playing where he can be his best.

You are correct. Which comes back to the old question of why take him??

I just don't get what Lynch was thinking.

And take away snaps from players who are playing better?

At this point it's important to try to different combos to see what works for next year and what we gotta do. I also think it's improtant to not get too carried away with Sollys play inside. I thought it was ok, but not some world beater or how a number 3 pick should play. Step in the right direction though.

As Aaron Donald showed us, an elite big man defender can play anywhere on the d line . Put clowney or Watt or Donald or Myles anywhere and they'll do work. It's alarming that solly didn't do anything at all in 6 games on the edge even if it's not his natural position.

Nice post

I agree

I'd hate to take the one thing we are good at which is run D and make it worse with Solomon inside.

I know right? If only there was film out there of him exclusively playing inside that resulted in him getting drafted #3 overall. If only.

I mean seriously. What would we do without Earl Mitchell out there the majority of the snaps? I would imagine the all-important run defense in a passing league would completely bury us.
I was listening to the podcast and I have to agree with both of them that the rest of the games are winnable especially with Jimmy Garoppolo. Damn that injury just kills me. Not to mention we would've won the Chargers Cardinals and Green Bay game. Everyone would be singing a different tune right now even with a bad defense.

They also mentioned how bad the coaching is on defense and I have to agree. Why in the hell would you not play a third pick AT A DIFFERENT POSITION??? Unbelievable, just unf**king believable. Whether people think he's a bust or not play him at his best position. What in the hell are they thinking? How can anyone be OK with this? Has that ever happened to a top five pick where they switched the position basically his first two years?

Film that got him to proclaim how much he loves Thomas...

Ohhhh. The sarcasm game is strong with this one.

In what world is Earl Mitchell playing the majority of the snaps? I suppose we can move Solomon inside if we believe Buck is a NT. Which he isn't.

I hope you're kidding about the importance of stopping the run.

Lol. Not going to work.

But I can play along. I did think he was a good prospect in one mock draft I did and I thought he could be a good 5T. But damn was I wrong.

At least I am man enough to admit it unlike you who will fight to the death no matter how wrong you are.

Haha...glad you got that.

In what world? Apparently not the one you've been living in lately. Who had the most defensive snaps last game? Buckner, with 40. Guess who had 39.

I think you're missing the grand point here. It doesn't matter what you label Buckner or Thomas inside. 1T or 3T. It doesn't matter as it's dictated by how the OL plays you. You can be at 3T and get doubled. At that point, you're playing the role of a 1T and the 1T is free 1on1, like a 3T. And likewise. We just saw that.

Buckner and Thomas had 15 snaps together and did we lose anything in the run game? Quite the opposite. Per Oscar, Buckner's grade was exactly the same at 1T and Thomas had his best grade.

Why would this be a surprising outcome to you?

Why would you have concerns going more with this lineup going forward (base, snickel, nickel)? Serious question...
