What benefit could possibly be gained from prosecuting him? Such incidents are usually only prosecuted if there are other circumstances, such as not being licensed to drive a vehicle, a failed toxicology report, or hit and run. Nothing I've read suggests any of this is likely in this incident.

How do you continue living after something like this? Poor guy and his family are destroyed right now. Hope they can somehow carry on anyway they can.

Because sometimes it is an accident. All the evidence indicates that it was an accident and that he was not impaired in anyway, By all accounts all the kids have been well cared for, not neglected in anyway, no history of child abuse, no proof that there would be any actual intent. There isn't a jury out there that would convict him of any charge.

He is Mormon. Was probably going to do it anyway.

I don't see how jokes are even an option here.

It's an option if you can come up with a good one, that joke wasn't worthy enough to go to hell over.

Can't imagine. We all move on but to always be thinking about the little child who adored you and who you adored is no longer with you...gotta be the worst feeling in the world in any event imaginable.

This is what I was thinking as well. My heart goes out to him and his family.

To a man, I don't know how he can continue on.
Ughhhh my heart goes to him and his family. I really don't know how I'd be strong enough to carry on if I was in that situation tragic

#HugsFromHollyDay spreads kindness to celebrate the life of Todd Heap's daughter Share Story

What an impact a simple idea can make.

Former Cardinal, Sun Devil and Mountain View High School product Todd Heap's family turned a tragedy into a day that impacted those not just in Arizona and Baltimore — where the NFL tight end is most well-known — but across the country.

On April 14, Heap accidentally ran over and killed his 3-year-old daughter, Holly, and Wednesday marked what would have been her fourth birthday. In her honor, the family created HugsFromHolly.com and asked through the #HugsFromHollyDay hashtag for everyone to honor their daughter's memory a few simple ways.

1. Wear pink.
2. Spread love and joy through hugs and other random acts of kindness.
3. Spread that love on social media using the #HugsFromHollyDay hashtag.

People responded to the sentiment and ran with it.

Those in football and even more outside of the NFL family did everything from buying a stranger coffee, to giving out a generous tip, to writing a message of encouragement to a loved one. And of course, they did it while wearing pink.
