Please no Bradley. He will try to run the old cover-3 but without Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor and we'll get shredded week in and week out.

They didnt just work together previously, they are legit good friends. Not psyched about that one either honestly.

Tim Kawakami is predicting this...last time Bradley was a DC his D was ranked 29th in yards allowed...24th in points allowed just slightly better than the two years prior ranking 28th.
Thats terrible but the big question is what was he working with roster wise?

He had Defo
And?

Maybe a better way to look at it....they fired him, got a middle of the pack QB and started 8-2 with a top 3 D before loosing said QB for the season and having the offense collapse. The talent was there it just underachieved under Bradley.

you're good g

personally, I'm ready for a swap, but I'm also biased towards a 5-man front aka 3-4. There's a flexibility and ability to get more athletes on the field with a 34 that is better suited for today's game, imo.

Agreed
Would like to see them give Jim Leonhard an interview. Former NFL DB with college coordinating experience that has been coaching up the DBs in Denver.

Do you have any idea about what would it take in draft capital and years to switch to a 3-4 D?

A good 3-4 D is waaaaay harder to build than a good 4-3 D and more expensive too.

I'm not seeing a whole lot of talent on that Colts 24 defense, a competent offense compared to last year helps the defense out and the defense certainly didn't finish top 3.

Both schemes requires the horses to run, so that's not a good argument to close the door on it. Additionally, what the hell do you think the Seattle cover 3 is based on? Drafting bums? The entire basis of the Seattle cover 3 scheme is to load up on talent and keep the scheme as simple as possible to maximize those players abilities. That 2012-2014 Seattle defense was special because it was loaded on talent. Likewise, the 49ers' defense didn't start humming until they were also loaded up on talent in 2019.

Its not so much the talent its that he's still largely calling the same scheme that others have diverted from years ago. Its an incredibly vanilla approach that requires overwhelming talent across the board.

Saleh and DeMeco run more modernized versions of it. It'd be like moving backwards.
I never liked Saleh anyways. Guy had soft coverage. See ya!

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of the Gus Bradley, but it is what it is, I guess.

Would kill for someone that could run a system like the Jags DC. Took Fangio's scheme and updated it.
