He showed the same sort of progress at Cal after the jump from freshman to sophomore. Not totally seen in the statistics but his overall comfort level in the offense and ability to run the offense in general. It was night and day. I think some of it was psychological. He's a slower learner and needs to build confidence.
I also think Jeff Fisher was the wrong coach to develop Goff and amplified Goff's tendency to start slow in new settings. Add poor blocking and a lack of WR's- it was the perfect storm for failure.
I think he has looked solid vs teams that don't have a quality defense. I was curious to see how he would look vs SEA and it doesn't look pretty. That doesn't make him a bust, just not sold on him as anything to be afraid of at this point
