I agree. Goff isn't a difference maker at the NFL level. He doesn't have the physical tools to justify his draft position. He's just a guy.

Looks horrible at home vs ATL who isn't exactly solid on the defensive end. Has a loooong way to go to look competent

He couldn't have gone to a worse franchise. Jeff Fisher can't develop a QB to save his life, Goff probably isn't ready to play, they gave up a lot to get him. They proabably need everything on offense except a QB and RB.

Shades of the 49ers drafting Alex in '05.

This dude might actually get Jeff Fischer fired.

Yes, that Jeff Fischer, below average coach who somehow has kept a job despite losing record after losing record and no player development. The same guy who thought he could start some guy named "Rusty Smith" at quarterback in an official NFL game.

At no point in any game he's played in has Jared Goff looked like even a minimally competent NFL QB.

Even when other top QBs struggled in their rookie year they at least showed something to build on. He's done none of that so far.

Will he get better? I'm sure. But it's not like this kid is dripping with elite talent. Maybe he can be Ryan Fitzpatrick, but I'm not sure.

I think there's a bit more to it than that.

Didn't Fisher basically leak that he got extended and it had actually happen earlier? Looks like the team didn't agree with that decision.

People continue to make the "he doesn't have talent around him" excuse. They did it in college. And they're doing it in the pros.

None of these #1 overall QBs have talent around them. But the ones that had a nice career made it happen anyways -- because they were elite talents.

At some point he has to show he can be at least a serviceable QB. He folded in big games in college. And now he's embarrassing himself in the NFL.
