Shanahan has the second-most options on the poll so I would hardly say this board is "sleeping" on him.
Why would any coach with options want to come here??? The 49ers have no franchise QB and are deep in the rebuilding process. The best they can do is hold on to Kelly for a few more years, if he turns out to not be the guy, hopefully by that point the roster is a bit further along and they have at least a young QB to develop.

Why would 70% of the folks vote for Chip Kelly? His offense is a fail. This offense with an upgraded O line should be leaps and bounds more productive than what Jim Tomsula ran last season. Yet this offense is behind in almost every category including win loss record compared to last season. I like Chip a lot. Like how he handles his business, how he leads, his cutting edge approach in preparing his football players but his offense does not work and don't believe it will ever work even with ideal personnel. Unless Kelly modifies significantly what he does, runs something that values time of possession, something a lot more complex, where players heads are focused on their opponents on the field rather than on the sidelines looking at signals, then he must go..

I'll take Any of those NFL offensive coordinators. No More College Coaches, or defensive coaches for a Head Coach.

It should be Sean McDermott or Kyle Shanahan but I think we stay with Kelly.

Kind of no-win situation. Any GM worth a damn is going to want complete autonomy to make the necessary organizational changes that are needed. That's how the Browns ended up with their team lawyer being promoted to GM.
If you force Kelly on a GM, no one from the outside will take this job. If you do move on from Baalke, do you do so knowing you'll have to dump Kelly also?
