I could see using getting rid or kap and gabbert and going in a different direction. There's going to be a couple good free agents or players available for trade. I would also think we would be high among his choices since our qb position should be wide open.

Him or Brady
And this is in the draft forum why?
I believe NE will lock him up

Don't you know. NE QB's don't do well on other teams! Just like NE Head Coaches and Coordinators!

Kaepernick?
Kansas City made this mistake with Cassel.

but he would be coming to an offense that makes mediocre QBs look good too. Might be a good switch. Plus, Garappolo was a 1st round pick and Cassel was a 7th round pick. Garrapolo was a highly respected prospect and has shown to be that so far. Not a very good comparison
If we want Garappolo, we will have to trade for him. He is barely in his third year of his 4 year contract and patriots would probably take his 5th year option wto trade him if they havent already.

This was Belichicks plan from before the draft, show off Garappolo while Brady is suspended and trade him for multiple picks. Thats why they picked up Briskett, so Brady would have a reliable backup after Garoppolo is dealt
Matt Cassel 2.0

Everyone knew that Cassel is limited when he was traded. Garapolo however has got some talent in the tank though.

Iirc the 5th year option is only applicable if the draftee was picked in round one. He was drafted in round 2 though.

BTW, I don't think that a end-3rd-round pick can be considered as a future franchise QB. I'd rather assume that the Pats want to build up a career backup for Garoppolo.
