What if he re-entered the draft only to get drafted by the chargers in later rounds and they didn't have pay him top money

Read the thread dude. It's already been stated that if Bosa goes back into the draft then the Chargers cannot draft him again.

Yes, that is clear enough. But at what stage would a team take him if he did end up in the 17 draft.
My theory is unless Dallas or the Seahawks grab him with the 1st, he may drop as low as the 3rd or 4th round.

That's pretty unlikely. The guy is currently a young 21, and has the resouces to stay in pretty good shape. If a team like the 49ers were willing to take someone like Tank who was a worse prospect than Bosa at 40, knowing he'd have to sit out a year, I doubt someone would wait until 65 picks into the draft to get Bosa.

I think that about sums it up.
I see their point but the fact still remains, SD does not do business that way and that's the team he got drafted to. There is nothing that says they have to remove the offset language and/or pay the entire bonus after year 1. Just because other teams do it (mostly typical bottom feeders anyways), does not mean they have to do it. The ball is in SD's court
What other teams do this and aren't the Chargers bottom feeders?
Their is no reason to treat a bonus like an annuity and offset language is BS when it comes to guaranteed money.
The players already took it in the shorts buy not be allowed to participate in the market for five years and by being part of a communist style slotting system.

Kansas City had Eric Fisher agree to offsets and a deferred bonus after being the #1 pick.
The only franchises that dont require offset language are the Rams and Jaguars. Its a fairly reasonable measure for coaches and players alike. You can get your guaranteed money just sitting at home chilling like Tomsula is doing right now but if you go work for the competition, the amount you are owed gets subsidized partially by them.

Independent of Tank's injury, Bosa is still a drastically better prospect than Tank was. Bosa won't fall past the second provided he tests in a similar ballpark to where he did before.

And that is the rub. No Combine. No workouts for other teams. San Diego would have exclusive rights up until the day of the draft.
He'd still be a 1st rounder but it wouldnt be anywhere close to the #3 pick like he was this year. For him it'd be good in that he would likely wind up on a much better team, bad in the sense that he would end up with a much smaller deal.

We should trade them DFo for Bosa and their 2017 1st rounder. That way they don't have to worry about another pesky holdout next year.

They can't trade him either at this point. They either sign him or he goes back into the draft.
