I think he's talking about they way they were constructed. IIRC, Aikman, Emmitt and Irvin were all drafted. For the Rams they traded for Stafford, OBJ, Miller &Ramsey. Signed Whitworth. The only guy they actually drafted worth anything is Donald & Kupp.
I myself have thought this isn't the way to do it. You can't go like 7 straight years with no first round pick that's never been the way to build an NFL team. Maybe an NBA team.

Think it has to do with trading for stars and signing them in FA (like philly a few years back)
Football is the ultimate team sport. You need people who do the dirty work and not just the highlight plays.
You all need to be working towards a common goal. Free lancing on O or D is bad
