Pro Bowl value? Better concept?

Shop 49ers game tickets
Since the timing of this event and the fact that no one wants to get injured or put any value in to the team they are playing for in Pro Bowl, is there a better concept?

Would a non contracted player bowl East v West played mid season be viable?

Or should we just let sleeping dogs lie?

The point of the Pro Bowl isn't the game. The point is that fans across the league recognize the best players in the game and honor them. Who cares if the guys with the most votes don't play... you still get to watch football.

I really like what the NHL is doing. Having teams based on division in a tournament bracket.

NFC West All Stars vs. NFC South All Stars, etc, etc, etc.

I think NFC West would be pretty solid w/ SF, SEA, LA, ARI

You call that football? There were some good plays but was there really anyone putting in 100%. Fans deserve better dont they?

An NFL olympics style affair? Would it still hold today's public attention?

Works for the combine.
And Pro Bowl players are better than college kids.

I wanna see the skill challenges return, along with fastest man & strongest man events. ( Make it happen NFL)

Yes they do. Especially, since time is (considered) more valuable than money. However,
for the people that actually attended the game, 175 USD is nothing to sneeze at

Even the Gronk thinks something needs to change.
Whatever gets done, there's no way they would have the pro bowl at any point during the regular season. Teams wouldn't risk player injury and players would not want to risk getting hurt mid season, especially for teams in the hunt for the playoffs.

No one cares about the game, so why even play one at all? Just vote on a team using one third fan voting, one third player voting, and one third coach/executive voting, pay all the players that get voted in a stipend, and leave it at that.

Just give every team the same bye week and make the pro bowl during the bye week in the middle of the season, and raise the money for the winning team. Copy the NBA and do some small challenges on Saturday and still make Sunday to Pro Bowl game
Let them play Futball, broadcast it around the world, throw in Messi and Ronaldo. Either that or play the game in bubble-wrap.
