Reports are he told Cleveland they have to move on from Johnny Football and they agreed

Yup I just read that on Rotoworld.

Told you. They are taking Jared Goff.

I find it funny he found it necessary to make that demand. I think Manziel has made his feeling towards the Browns quite clear by his behavior. And if that didn't get the message across, remember his agent was on Twitter openly campaigning for them to trade Manziel to Dallas.

So, yea....

Trade his dumb ass to Canada, fool doesn't deserve to be in the NFL!!!

Seriously though trade him to a team like Buffalo, don't let him get his way by helping him to go back to a place HE WANTS.

No, let him sink in Dallas. He will not succeed anywhere because he is too stupid.

Multiple beat writers had stated he was the front runner. Sounds to me if the meeting lasted 5 hours it was because they liked Hue.

He turned the team down. It was Cleveland and SF. Stay in Ohio or go back to the bay. Why is it so hard for you to believe that is what happened??

The guy went to Cleveland because they actually offered him and because he will have roster control.

Giving a coach roster input is great but giving them complete control just doesn't work. Too much for one guy to handle.

I agree. A bird in the hand is what this is. They made an offer, no guarantee an offer from us or the Giants was forthcoming.

I guarantee you don't because its a fabrication so you can be right and Nyniner85 wrong.

Never mind one of Hue's good good friends tweeting that Hue wanted to be a 49er and they never offered him the job.

Its just so much easier to believe the OPINIONS of beat writers whos opions are always negative, and ignore facts of the mater. I understand, it fits your narrative.

Google "leader for 49ers head coaching job" and Hue's name comes up multiple times.

So you're taking everything Silver is saying seriously because NFL insiders are never wrong?? If love to see this tweet of hue wanting the niners job?

Niners didn't offer the job because they knew he would accept. The guy was the leader by multiple reports on the weekend so their must have been some information out there that the Niners indeed wanted Hue. The Niners are in no position to dictate to any coaching candidate what they want. They should be buttering up this job that no real coach wants.

The Hue Jackson Era in Cleveland will trigger the end of Johnny Manziel and the #Browns. Expect the new coach to move on from the QB.

There is definitely a 49er point of interest here: Jackson did a great job with Dalton and then McCarron. Will he believe he can fix Manziel and thus not draft a QB? If so, will that leave one of the top two for 49ers at #7?

"They made me feel comfortable." That suggests to me that the 49ers were not really ready to make him the HC. Perhaps attached too many conditions on the job? None of us know and it doesn't matter. If Baalke really wanted him he would be here. Despite the record, there is more talent here than in Cleveland.

Baalke has a real control problem. It is evident. No alpha-male head coaches in SF. This guy has to go.

There is a lot of head bumping in the NFL. For several years there have been reports out of NO of Payton and Mickey Loomis clashing. Eventually they have reached an accommodation though it sounds a little sketchy.

Give Jimmy Haslam & the Browns credit: They went out and got their guy. Niners had first shot if they wanted it. Giants were looming...

Sounds like the 49ers had the chance to make an offer and declined to do so.

His asking price was probably too much. Jed still scared to pay.

He's paying Tomsula's salary for a few more years. Stop this narrative. If Jed wanted to be cheap, he could've kept Tomsula. He could've kept Singletary years back. He's eating the contract. I will reserve judgment until the hire is made.
sounds like the niners didnt want him after the interview. No second interview and started looking at other coaches shortly after. Sucks because i wanted Hue but hopefully Baalke can make something work and not have to "settle" like last year

That says a lot.

It would be interesting to know who Baalke targets.

It says they interviewed him and didn't see him as a fit. No one in their right mind would pick A the Browns and B Cleveland as a place to live over the 9ers and Giants and the Bay Area and New York

It is so annoying to hear this "argument" all over again.
Fact: Neither Jim Harbaugh nor Tomsula was cheap. Jim earned top10-money iirc, Tomsula was in bottom 5 but not last or pre-last.

Imho, York was not sold on Tomsula due to savings (as stated in previous paragraph, he was not the cheapest guy in the NFL) but more due to Paraag's useless stats.

Baalke hasn't just settled last year, it was York's freaking idea to hire Tomsula as HC or at least as DC apparently. Baalke negotiated a done deal with Gase.
im betting that hue wanted more personnel control than baalke was willing to give up

rumor is hue has a lot of control of the roster at browns

Bottomline....the guy with full roster control is a lawyer that has ZERO personnel experience. The GM will have to work under him and answer to him and DePodesta. This means they are lining up for a pretty s**tty GM.

The end result will be the coach having a heavy influence on personnel. Super emotional guys don't usually make for good personnel guys.
