OR the saints wanted a ton for him and no team jumped at the offer? The Giants have one of the most stable owners and FO in the league and he's worked there before but didn't move....Miami is a cluster f**k worse then we currently are.

Let there be no mistake, Sean Payton was open to leaving New Orleans. But interest in him, with compensation, not what he thought it'd be.

So, if we weren't willing to pay him what he's already getting, then why even enter the race? Unless he wanted $10M/year which is crazy money for the record he has after winning the superbowl 7 years ago.

Jed lied again

The saints could have also been asking something ridiculous like what the raiders got for gruden. Which is by no means worth it.

Thanks for the laughs, folks. Never listen to the media. It was never going to happen. It was never as close as they tried to make it sound.

Good luck with a third straight losing season.

Baalke called his bluff. Saints/Payton have until Sunday (Hue's interview) to change their mind. Unless Miami signs Hue 1st

This. The Saints may have been asking something ridiculous, which anything more than a 2nd round pick was ridiculous. Good for them. If Payton got any additional power then that may have been all that he was looking for.

The compensation they refer to has nothing to do with Payton's contract demands. Those couldn't have been discussed yet. Compensation refers to what the Saints wanted in trade.

Shanahan/Ed Donatel

I can't believe Shanny still wants this job after getting passed up for Jimmy T. LOL. Even know, both sides aren't even interested enough to meet face to face, just kicking the tires over the phone....

Hiring him would look bad on both ends....like settling.

It doesn't make sense does it? It doesn't make sense because it's no where close to the truth. I know most of you stopped listening after he said he was staying, but listen to the rest of it. The media is toying with your emotions. He wasn't leaving. He certainly wasn't leaving for a 2nd round pick. You've been manipulated by the media.

Just in time to replace Garrett with the Cowboys.

Only way he's coaching there is if Jerry isn't the GM and we know that's not happening lol.

Payton has all the power in NO. Like you said time for

Hiring Lynn would be settling. Now that Payton is off the list.....would almost be like settling now.
