Our front office had 2015 to evaluate this guy. How would what he does or does not show in training camp be more telling than the abysmal performance he showed in 2015?

Waste of time.

He's a camp body with starter experience...he's not making the team there's literally nothing to lose.

OK fine, but what is there to gain?

There is no point in bringing someone to camp that has no chance of making the roster, IMO. Having nothing to lose is fine if there is something to gain. I dont see there being anything to gain in this instance.

Agree. Being an experienced linemen, he is going to take reps and an opportunity from another player who has more upside but is raw. Unless he really feels like Martin and Thomas are that bad.

Camp body... people bring in players to training camp that have zero chance of making the team all the time. Once they get a OG that can take his spot he's gone. There's no harm in having on the team in March lol. Like I said he has vet experience and cost no money. Not sure what your worried about, he's not gonna play and his chances of being on this team are like less than 10%.

It's March relax...your crazy if you think he's gonna get any real substantial snaps just a camp body.

I am crazy but that is independent of my thoughts that is Devey MAY take some snaps away from a younger guy with more potential.

It March man

Let's worry about him taking snaps when July 31st rolls around A LOT can happen between now and first day of training camp.

but he is taking the spot of a potential rookie/young guy who MIGHT make something of himself in this league. devey is f**king garbage and will never amount to anything. basically, if he has to start ANY games for us this season, we are f**ked. if he has to play significant time in a game but not start, we are f**ked for the drives he is involved in. when you have a player like that, there is no room for him. not on the 53 man roster, not on the 90 man roster. if we could have a 1000 man roster i would not want him as part of it. just f**king terrible. and you can add pears to that list too
He still needs to earn a spot on the 53 ...if we don't sign or draft another guard , Baalke is punching his ticket out of town ....if we bring back Pears too, that will confirm Baalke still thinks those two will develop into serviceable lineman , if we saw glimpses of Devey potentially developing into a strong lineman, I'd be a little enthusiastic, but the guy struggled mightily ...I don't understand this ??

nah, it's not that serious. He's a camp body to practice with. He's only like the 4th backup OL on the team. If you're worried about taking up space maybe tell Trent to unload one of the 10 WR's or 7 RB's on the roster.

Trent just trying to hold out hope that him actually trading for this crappy dude was worth it. lol
This doesn't allow him to be signed else where which would be a greater help to our team
