Ah yes, the lazy mans dream. A place where you can be fat, and suck at your job, yet still be retained and paid millions.

This guy should be way gone by now. If not Baalke will be following behind him shortly I'm guessing

Not vouching for this guy or baalke. But this deal isn't guaranteed. No reason to be up in arms about it in March. If he is competing in August for a starting spot than we can have a different discussion. To me, this looks like camp fodder. Let's see how this offseason plays out before we start getting worried

We couldn't find camp fodder anywhere else? This guy was absolutely terrible. All those rumors of Brady getting benched or Pats turning the page on Brady was due to him. And yet we bring him back. I bet the QB's are elated to see him back.

I've called Devey the worst player I've ever seen multiple times, and while that may be an exaggeration since I watch a lot of preseason, I can't begin to stress how dysfunctional the offensive line always seemed to be when he was in. Who knows, maybe he'll do well in your scheme, and I'd be happy for the guy. But I would be very worried about him being named the starter; he was named our starter this time last year and was a main culprit in the offensive struggles weeks 1-3.
Wow this dude got it right.

It's shocking this guy ends up in favor of both Bellichick and Baalke AND ends up starting on both teams. How is that even possible?
I dont care that it is non-guaranteed or whatever. This dude is garbage. There is absolutely no reason to bring back a turd like him, even if its just to cut him before the season. Our front office had 2015 to evaluate this guy. How would what he does or does not show in training camp be more telling than the abysmal performance he showed in 2015?

Waste of time.

He's just here to help build up the confidence of the young DL we'll bring in.

He's a camp body with starter experience...he's not making the team there's literally nothing to lose.

teams add tons of s**t players as camp fodder. Its pretty hard to have 90 players who are all starting material. Name me a team that does that and ill say you are playing madden. You get a guy who has starting experience as camp fodder. Lets not let our butthurt-ness get in the way of seeing this contract means nothing till proven other wise, it is not guaranteed.

if we are going to have camp fodder and someone for the defenses to abuse and to hurt,. better be him than some of our better people, who are either on the team now or will be added

The real shocker is that Devey wont even be close to the worst offensive lineman in camp. As crappy as he looks on gameday, the fact that he is even there says something. He was good enough to get signed and moved to a starting role by Bilicheck. That being said, he sucked for the Pats as a starter and for us as a starter so bringing him in for camp is a safe move but I would hate to see him in a uniform on gameday.
