#49ers DC Jim O'Neil on if he wanted to promote OLB Marcus Rush from practice squad: "I'm not going to second-guess people in the building."
Trent knows best.
Trent knows he's all but out. Why not screw the team in the process?
In all seriousness, it's not like I have a crystal ball that says Rush would be great, but where my fury lies is in the fact that we've gotten nothing out of our starters all season. We NEEDED to see what the young guys have. It became more and more idiotic as the season went on for Rush to not get a chance. Even while linebackers continued to drop, we didn't give him a chance.
Baalke is not the coach. He is responsible for the roster, not the depth chart.
You even said yourself that he's in charge of the roster, that includes bringing players up from the PS, that's his call.
No, that's not Baalke's call. The coach determines the depth chart including practice squad.
All the players on the roster? That's Baalke's doing. Who plays, that's up to Chip.
Edit: I thought it was Chip's call, apparently not;
O'Neil was asked if he would go talk to general manager Trent Baalke about possibly activating Rush. - See more at: http://www.49erswebzone.com/articles/100659-dont-hold-your-breath-waiting-marcus-rush-play/#sthash.51xrJCgM.dpuf
