We've been destroyed at LB ALL SEASON, lining up OLB at ILB, having one after another get hurt, wind up on IR and STILL Rush doesn't get his shot.
Unreal. No logical explanation whatsoever.
Hope he lights it up for the Jags making this franchise and it's clueless ownership look even worse.
Thanks Baalke.
Moron.

He was going to be put on the 53 today too
Thanks baalke

Baalke. Thank O'Neil. He was too much of a p***y to ask him to be elevated. He flat out said he doesn't get involved with that? THAT'S YOUR JOB A-HOLE! It's YOUR job to alert your GM to the fact that Rush has made significant progress and you'd like to bring him up and give him a try as a situational pass rusher. Hopefully he'll suck ass for the Jags and end up being another Garrison Smith in the end. But if not.

Oh, okay. Thanks.

The only time a GM makes a personnel move in-season is via trades (i.e. Kerley for Modkins) or when we've lost players...so players are elevated to the 53 to supplement the players lost to I.R. and/or new players are added to the PS or 53 if we're desperate (i.e. ILB). But there will always be a communication with the coaches on this process and who to bring in/elevate (i.e. with Kelly/Modkins and O'Neil). So yes, while O'Neil doesn't personally handle the 53 and personnel moves, HE very much has control over the 53 including his own inactives and actives and depth. All this idiot would have had to do was say the word. Why would ANY GM veto such a move esp. in a 1-13 season where we lack pass rush. LOL. It's not like Baalke didn't understand the importance of having a situational pass rusher.

I must know where your intimate knowledge of the inner workings of a professional sports franchise comes from.

i remember watching owens during pre season games , the guy stood out huge and look how he did in real games , mark my words rush becomes one hell of a player and we lost out . our management is a disaster , just want to wake up from this bad dream .

#49ers DC Jim O'Neil said decision on OLB Marcus Rush was "above his pay grade."
Losing Rush to the Jags is good for him...maybe he'll get a chance to play. As for our coaches being morons, I think they know Rush and what he can do better than any of us. Rush's success in preseason may or may not play into the regular season. I thought they might activate him when Lynch was out. But, for whatever reason they didn't. That said, there are much bigger problems on this team...losing Rush is really pretty small potatoes.

I wish him the best and hope he gets to play in the final 2 games. I hope he does well and shows our staff just how much they are idiots.

Trent knows he's all but out. Why not screw the team in the process?

In all seriousness, it's not like I have a crystal ball that says Rush would be great, but where my fury lies is in the fact that we've gotten nothing out of our starters all season. We NEEDED to see what the young guys have. It became more and more idiotic as the season went on for Rush to not get a chance. Even while linebackers continued to drop, we didn't give him a chance.
Good luck to him. Wish we had gave him a real shot. But not so sure this guy is any good. But Tank and Eli's play didn't warrant the team not giving him a shot.
