If the NFL don't suspend Aldon,

Aldon was never going to get suspended by the NFL before his court case was resolved. He could be with the Raiders for about a month or two before we learn of a suspension.
I know Bro. I just had to get that off my chest. I feel much better now. I'm just really upset that we let this guy - one of the leagues top pass rushers - go for free essentially behind hype. On top of that I'm hearing no media condemnation at all. It just bothers me. . . . .

Keep this in mind...

...Aldon has to actually be on a team in order to serve a suspension...IE, if the league were to suspend him for 8 games this season and he wasn't on a roster, it wouldn't count till he was on one.

IE, if he didn't play at all this year and wasn't on a roster, any suspension would carry over till next year.

If I'm the Raiders and I can get him for 6 games or so at league minimum...what the hell.

Then next year he's free to sign another contract with whomever he wants with the suspension behind him. This of course assumes the court case ends fairly quickly and the league doles out its punishment quickly...neither of which is guaranteed. My guess is Aldon doesn't fight too hard on any of it to get it behind him to maximize the $$$ he can get next year.

Aldon will not play for the 49ers again. Why would he? His latest case will get dropped and there will be no punishment from the NFL. Obviously, the Raiders or Aldon has heard from the NFL or else why sign the guy? He is done as a Niner forever. And he will tear it up in Oakland. Jed and Trent jumped the gun on this one. And we will have a full season of no pass rush.

Oh come on. That's BS. The 49ers didn't have a choice.

"Jumped the gun"!?! Seriously? That's ludicrous. His behavior dictated his release. Period.

Of course they had a choice. The truth will come out at some point.

?

...and what truth is that?
The truth being that he should never have been arrested in the first place. At least that's what I heard.

This is what I was thinking to. How come only 4 teams were reported to having an interest? You'd think every team would have been interested or at least more than 4 teams. You have to think Oakland talked to the league first before signing him.

It's just a s**tty situation all the way around. Piece of s**t Raiders are getting freebies all over this situation. Free pass from the media, didn't have to waste a top pick on the risk and if he does get hammered they can just cut tie and call it cost of doing business.

And of those four, it was the team with cap space to burn that pulled the trigger. Raiders had the lowest risk reward equation in this situation.

I've heard that before.

That would be the prudent course of action for him. But I think we all know how court issues can get dragged out and then the NFL needs to decide what they want to do with his discipline. Because of that there is the possibility, even if slight that Aldon does get a full season before this is all resolved.

Best of luck to him with the Raiders. Hopefully a team change will get his head straight because goodness does this guy need it.
He was my favorite player on this team since 2011. I've bought a black alternate Aldon Smith jersey and now I don't know what to do with it. This is sickening. What I do know is that Aldons mistakes has cost us big-time the last couple years. We've list games and playoff positioning because of his absences. We've worked to keep him and have paid him to get it right yet he still hadn't and now this??? Man I'm pissed! We need to quit worrying about PR and focus on winning. The NFL should handle discipline not us no matter what TK is writing

The court case is the part that might drag, but I think the NFL will act swiftly after that part is resolved.

Do you think the NFL will still discipline him if the case is dropped?

spray paint the red letters and numbers grey?

the rahhderps are paying Aldon double ...if not just giving him a free paycheck to stay off the field. He has to serve whatever the judge will tell him, then whatever Goodell, who already suspended him 8 games, will punish him afterwards.

AFFFFFFFTER all of that, he'll be eligible for some top ten draft pick money.

HUUUUGE roll of the dice lol . No wonder the higher ups gave up on him. Too much baggage and the risk factor is overwhelming and a distraction all for just one player.
F**k you Aldon. We stuck by you through thick and thin and this is how you repay us? Are you serious? This speaks volumes to this Asshats character, F**K you!!
