He looks a lot thinner just judging from pics from the April 4th mini camp....I follow him on Twitter and he seem super determined and motivated to be the RT, got to love that!

Also like Staley saying the spot should be his to lose.

I think the most special part of all of this is that Staley took him under his wing. With a mentor like him, he'll have no choice BUT to grow and meet his ceiling.
I want to be as optimistic with Brown as you guys are, BUT do you guys think he's THAT good? And if Tunsil does slip all the way down to 7, YOU HAVE TO TAKE HIM.

But in Kelly's system, it wouldn't surprise me to see him drop another 10 pounds on cardio alone either.

Pretty sure he said on Twitter he's grown and up to 6'9 now

He made so much progress on his body last year I'd be mildly shocked if he didn't keep it up. I have him penciled in as our starter at RT, but the Rams trading up are making me wonder what we'd do if Tunsil were to slip.

LOL. I totally forgot about that!

It was actually a bit comical trying to watch pass rushers get around him to the outside. I wish some would post some gifs from the Bengals, Lions or Rams game (where he started). I think he got some snaps prior to that...shared snaps in the Browns game?

Edit: I checked. He had a total of 186 snaps @ 9 (ATL), 34 (CIN), 62 (DET) & 81 (STL) with a 77 AV grade by PFF. I counted a total of 2 QB pressures over those snaps.

Because he has a rare combination of elite size and excellent feet. He just needs experience.

I remember in the preseason when I was calling for him to start and you were saying the same...it was apparent that edge rushers were having the damnedest time trying to get around him. Not to mention, he handles stunts and twists extremely well for a man his size which is paramount in the division we play in.

Totally! He and Tiller or Thomas and I still wanted Looney to start at C over Martin.

Imagine Staley - Boone - Looney - Tiller/Thomas - Brown

...all year together.

The only way a passrusher is getting past Brown is inside but if we had a better G like Tiller instead of a Devey or Pears, that instantly becomes a wall you can't break down (rarely).

I am curious to see how he blocks out in space more. It sounds like he's taken this opportunity and 'run' with it.

Either way, Tunsil, Stanley or Conklin, we NEED another T badly. We, litetally, have nobody behind Staley and if Brown goes down, we're done.

Good call.

i've been saying this for a while.

Joe is on the wrong side of 30.

He's still an excellent Tackle but we are so thin at the position - just one injury and we can look forward to 1-15.

One injury and Pears makes the team and starts.

Let that sink in a while.

Tunsil is the # 1 rated OT in the draft, adn is NOT going to be there at #7. He was going to be picked #1 in draft by Tenn, but now it's gonna be one of Wentz or Goff and the ohter goes next. So Tunsil has slipped to #3(IMO) and will be gone there or traded up for. So we don't need to be thinking Tunsil. Stanley is the guy that is most likely there for us at 7, and we should take him UNLESS, Buckner somehow slides down to us. Then the pick is pretty simple, much as I would like Stanley....who is not as good a run blocker as Tunsil, but is better than Tunsil at pass pro. If Jack is there, and until yesterday I thot he wouldn't be, Trent will have to pass on him, due to his medical evaluations (mixed opinions by docs who examined him). Somebody else might bite, but literally, Trent cannot, wiht his past hx of All ACL teams. This is the #7 pick and if there is any chance medical (read as knees, joints, muscles) is a problem, Trent would get fired if he took Jack and then found he had trouble wiht medical clearance. So no Jack at 7....at least for us. A shame , as he was one of my top 3 favorites. But not with mixed opinions on his medical eval.

So Stanley is most likely guy to be there and only reason for not taking him would be Buckner. If we got that lucky, we would smile and hand in our pick. But I just don't see Buckner making it down to 7. With Stanley we would have him to take over for Joe S when he retires , say 3-4 yrs from now. Initially we put Stanley at RG and keep Trent at RT.

Then our OL looks like : Staley/Zane/ kilgore(OC draftee or Tiller)/ Stanley/Brown . We will still need to get our OC, but if we take Stanley, it would be 4th or 5th Rd....unless chip pulls out all the stops on OL and gets an OC right after Stanley. Then we are talking about a serious OL, which we have needed for 2 yrs now.

Look at the above and compare to Staley/Tiller/ maritin/pears/devey....a lineup which got a big FAIL last yr. We are talking about a very good OL, which is in line with what chip needs. Still, should. Buckner be there, he is such a force that I think Trent takes him and gets OT in 2nd or trades back up into first. But it wouldn't be for Stanley.

I wondered earlier if Goff had been there at #7 if Chip really wanted him, or if Trent would take him. It is very possible chip as an O guy, wanted to rebuild the OL, which after Zane was only one impact player short. Now we'll never know. I don't doubt chip wanted to secure the OL first. Makes sense...that's what he does..."O".

When has Tiller played C? This is news to me.

Experience is everything with these kids.

BUT, does he really want to play? Hasn't filed paperwork yet?
Badger, it isn't that that boat has sailed....it hasn't left the dock.
Dawg78, it is either Tiller, Zane, Silberman, or Thomas, oh, or Colin Kelly. True Kilgore is still here, and he would be OC if we don't improve at the position. But OC has not been a position of strength for us this past yr. Kilgore out with injury played sparingly. NO idea on Thomas or Silberman, nor on Zane of Colin Kelly. But someone has probably played OC , including Tiller, and if Kilgore can't go or can't play well enough, we need someone who can. We will almost certainly draft an OC, but it may be 3rd Rd or more and may not be a starter. Or, chip could take Stanley followed by an OC/OG. There are a couple on Mad Dog's top 50 board. That would be an interesting move, but chip may pull out all the stops and make an OL that is special. We need to move up anywhere we can into top 50 or 75 due to such a harvest of DLs...DEs, DTs. Could chip want 2 OLs first? If so it would be a good idea to move up for DLs as far and as many as possible.
Oline should be OK:

Staley / Zane / Kilgore / A. Davis / Brown
Back-ups: Tiller / Martin / Pears / Thomas . . . . plus a draft pick . . . . or FA (eg. Jake Long?)

If A. Davis does not come back or is traded, obviously need a high pick on OT or sign a guy like Jake Long
M Martin should get better/stronger and be a good center, since he is only 22 y/o (but this year is make-or-break)
