Tarttexcuses. Dude was also late to the easy Kupp TD where Ambry was stressed.
Even if you feel the need to pivot to what-if's with Jimmy had Tartt got that INT, at minimum, it would have chewed up significant time off the clock.
All on point - why's everyone just dismissing what happened the next play after the drop?
It's a WZ illness.
Pick against Cowboys was huge, this could've had same impact

Blaming Tartt for the loss is pathetic. Jimmy G was dreadful and his 5 yard passes weren't enough.
We can't blame a SS when our game manager QB can't win it for us with multiple chances in the 4th.

Lol buncha dumb s**t. And yeah, the piling on Kyle Williams in 2011 was dumb too. At some point, your defense and ST can't play perfect anymore to bail out your s**tty game manager QB. It is what it is. Same old story in San Francisco

Should be blaming either...this loss is on the HC/OC who screwed the pooch.

I do. Sometimes it's hard to catch an interception when you're fighting through the receiver for the ball, or trying to catch a bullet. But the dude was essentially fielding a punt. That was absolutely embarrassing and it completely deflated our defense. It's not why we lost, but it's why we didn't win... if that makes any sense?
That's a good point. But if the secondary was better in coverage we would be talking about a win and not a dropped INT. But this is exactly why I wanted the 9ers to go out and spend so damn money and get a Safety who intercepts the damn ball. This free agency coming up will be pretty solid if you're looking to add Safeties and Corners, they just gotta stop being cheap.

Yeah it's totally all the coaches fault. It has nothing to do with Jimmy's 28 passer rating in his 4th quarter playoff appearances.

The Defense bailed out a terrible QB all year long.
We need upgrades in the secondary, but this one is not on the D.

Can you imagine if Tartt catches that punt ? We are 100% in the super bowl

If he catches that we probably win and go to the Super Bowl. He absolutely should have. It was a very catchable interception.

artt feels bad but two Rams receivers dropped passes right in their hands too. Kupp dropped an easy reception and then their was that long pass intothe end zone that went through the receivers hands. Drops happen. It's just that it would have been such a big INT at a critical time.
Someone above pointed out that what happened next was just as bad. Stafford completes a 30 yard pass and Ward hits OBJ with his helmet to tack on another 15 yards. The Niners tried playing more man and they just don't have the DBs to do that effectively. Without a good pass rush, the DBs were exposed.

I love how you guys are putting off how big of momentum swings TO's are in these games.

This is ridiculous
Aside from the injuries jaquiski tartt has been a good player and a stand-up guy for the team.
Remember just last week he ran down a Packers player from across the field.
If he doesn't do that the 49ers are probably not even in this game to begin with.
Let's keep things in perspective

We failed at clock management 101. We tried to force a run game late that was avg 2.5 ypc with deebo. We left a rookie on an island and let hand out catches like they were candy. We punted the ball 3 times on our own side of the field. We refused to make any adjustments in the 2nd half. He didn't protect the Oline that was a leaky faucet on the right side...making mistakes up the middle and literally half a man on the left because our big dog was playing when he probably shouldn't have. These are all coaching issues.

Actually, when you consistently get burned on 3rd down, a lot of it is very much on the D.

But you can't expect them to happen. They do or they don't in either case it was a PD for the guy. What should piss you off more is the mistakes in coverage on both of the Kupp TDs or all the First downs we gave up on screen passes.
