While he may not be worth 9mil, the eye test says he is not nearly as bad as you make him out to be imo

f**k.. you know even if these guys do beat him out in camp or he comes up with some injury. they will still keep him. it would awesome if those two guys out played him in camp and pre season. then what will lynch and kyle and their ego do

I would be much happier, if we signed AA to like a 4 year 28 million dollar deal, so 7 million a season. Guarantee his 1st season, and 2 million of the 7 million on season 2. This way he still is guaranteed 9 million, but we have him locked up for 4 years if he still plays decent, or we can cut bait after the season with a 2 million cap hit if he sucks. 3rd option is we could trade him after or during this season, and take NO CAP HIT.

Lots of options, but gives Armstead a little comfort in that he could be here 4 years if he plays well, and no matter what, he still has his 9 million guaranteed coming his way. This gives us some flexibility with him, and if he plays well, 7 million a year is not chump change for him either.
