I don't think Ward is coming back, he was truly bad, doubt that was lost on anyone on the coaching staff or front office. No improvement with him at all.
If ward is brought back it will be for cheap

Forget it bro niner fans buy up whatever that website and the front office tells them no matter what the eye test says.
just because a niner label is slapped on it does not make it good. i learned that a couple of years ago

While he may not be worth 9mil, the eye test says he is not nearly as bad as you make him out to be imo

f**k.. you know even if these guys do beat him out in camp or he comes up with some injury. they will still keep him. it would awesome if those two guys out played him in camp and pre season. then what will lynch and kyle and their ego do

Lots of options, but gives Armstead a little comfort in that he could be here 4 years if he plays well, and no matter what, he still has his 9 million guaranteed coming his way. This gives us some flexibility with him, and if he plays well, 7 million a year is not chump change for him either.

Shanahan implied that keeping Arik Armstead wasn't much of an internal debate. He was clearly the 49ers' second-best defensive lineman last year, and he managed to stay healthy. This table, from my piece on Buckner/Armstead here — https://t.co/KLHh65u8hv pic.twitter.com/KFDX1N2LU4

Kyle Shanahan confirms the 49ers are picking up the fifth year option on Arik Armstead in 2019.

Like paying a FQB 137 million so you have him locked up long term.
