Even after he left and signed with Washington he still made 1.3 million a year, which is roughly what Armstead is made last year in base salary. AA still has to play well to earn his 5th year since that option has no money guarantee unless he suffers an injury that extends well into next off-season. Otherwise he can easily be cut.

Personally, I think if healthy he'll have a good year.
Happy to hear you state that, OTC... He seems like a hard working, intelligent guy who has just had some bad luck. I think the team brought him back because they see talent but also because he can play multiple positions along the DL and the team values versatility. Good luck this year AA!....and it is always a pleasure to read your comments, OTC.

Cheers!

I'm w/you on that all the way!
BEST and fairest assessment on AA that I've read and I agree w/it.

Pretty much. He's underperformed but a replacement in a trade isn't likely to perform much better or have a higher ceiling.

One additional issue is that he doesn't fit what they want in a DL physically, so he's got a battle from the outset.
Actually pretty excited to see what AA can do this year. Shouldn't be as much pressure from the fan base on him now. Buck and Solly are expected to be cornerstones for us. They're the ones with big pressure. Anything AA does is bonus for us since expectations are quite low.

The big end in our scheme plays the 6T doesn't he? I think that's perfect for AA, closest to his natural 34 DE position.

Either thl, jonny and hero are saying "we know, we know" like Brent Musburger in waterboy or y'all proud of me

I would laugh so hard I would choke watching the webzone reactions and people running for cover. I hope he shows up this year, but I am ready to move on if he doesn't.

AA gonna break the sack record this season.

As hilarious as that would be, it seems pretty much impossibly unlikely with guys like Rodgers, JJ Watt, Deshaun Watson, David Johnson, and OBJ as candidates.

Comeback player means the player was good at one point, fell off, then came back. I don't think AA fulfills the first portion of the criteria.
