Didn't a lot of people think Dockett was going to beast? Justin didnt retire until after the draft. We were all hoping he would be back as a 3rd down player at least. Plus we had Williams, Dorsey, Dial, TJE, Tank. Am I forgeting anyone?

Our DL was looking ok on draft day.

As for CB we lost our 2 starters and had no proven guy who had started more than a year.

If you're going to say DL was a need CB was too.

I would have rather taken a CB then went took the best DL but oh well.

If Justin Smith had came back to play this season he was going to retire next season and probably the organization already knew that he wasn't coming back. Dockett wasn't a beast. TJE is pretty bad. Tank can't play 3-4 DE. Dial and Dorsey are pure run stoppers. Williams is a NT.

Brock was a proven guy. Acker, Johnson and Reaser had lots of potential.

Im very well but cant say the same about our 49ers they are in dire straits because of under performing draft picks such as Mr Armstead.

Hey, he played 17 snaps yesterday before he got tired. That's not too bad.

I would agree in some sense, but I do think people believed we needed another defensive lineman with a high ceiling(I wasnt one of them as I wanted us to go after a receiver, or trae waynes, or a different d lineman other than armstead). As many of the guys on the team were solid, but not spectacular. I do not think corner was, or is a need at this moment. We spent four picks on corners in 2014, which made it pointless to draft another one in 2015. I still think the corners have shown some promise(acker has steadily improved since the steelers game, DJ has looked good when he played, and ward has played well out of position) and the front offices focus on defense should be in the front seven(A good passrush makes any secondary look great), another defensive lineman to pair with armstead, and another passrusher at OLB could very much elevate this defense.

I have liked what ive seen from armstead, this coaching staff has continuously been reluctant to change up the starting roster(this can be seen with martin, and devey, and wilhoite). i think armstead should be starting based off what we have seen all year, not a ton of sacks, or tackles but being disruptive, taking on double teams, hurrying qb's, and getting penetration. He definitely needs a full offseason of work but that can be said for most rookies

He needs more than anyone because he was not here for this last offseason because the Oregon program is longer than most.

Hopefully with a full year under his belt he can get to 20 snaps a game.

We had 4 2nd year cbs and just spent cash on wright plus we brought back cook (which makes 6 CBs) plus we got Brock back from injury. We lost cox who by the end of the season was playing awful and cully who got paid way too much.

No one beleive smith was coming back and dockett was like 34 coming off a torn ACL...Baalke has always valued pass rush and DL over CBs. It's really not hard to fathom going DE over CB everyone had AA projected to us for a reason.

You can throw Ward in there who's having a pretty good year as well.

I'm sure he got a few tackles.

Taken on double teams all game...my only issue with him is tracking the ball which will come with more time and more snaps. He's getting push all game and if you don't see that then I just can't taken anything you say on here seriously.
