Wasn't Reid the one along with Boreland the one who got punked after an INT by Russell Wilson? Oh I thought so. Listen, Eric Reid is a "Decent" player but for him to be like Dashon or anything close to Dashon, he better get on the Ball and matter of fact Reid might up and retire too many dings.

You guys gotta give Dashon his props her being FEARLESS and a tone setter for the 49ers even in the LEAN years. Remember that MNF game in 2009 vs the Cardinals where Dashon had 3 ints and a forced fumble and sack??? Just sayin.

That never happened. Ever.
Cool story bro!

you're right. Clearly Reid didn't get beat one on one for a TD vs M Bennett....

I'll counter that, with this. WTF is Goldson looking at? There's this dude named Julio Jones that needs to collect some attention. So Goldson needs to pay up.

Goldson thought he had safety help over the top....oh wait...

So your only argument is to point out this kid has had 3 concussion? Getting hurt does not mean you're not a better player and basing your argument on that means you have no argument. You can't preduct injuries & to make light of this kid being concussed is tasteless. Everyone has shown you why REID is a better player. Stop harking of this kids concussion and come up with some definitive facts to why Goldson was better. Also being a big hitter in today's league is meaningless if you're constantly out of position. I'll take 35 any day over 38.

Again, I like Eric Reid, I like what he CAN become BUT, to say he is better then Dashon Goldson at this point in their careers is COMICAL. Eric Reid cannot tackle properly thats why he has Gotten 3 concussions right off the bat. And to also think the 49ers didn't MISS or havn't MISSED Dashaon's toughness is also WRONG. The 49ers lacked the toughness they had from 2011-13 those are not only my words but NAVORRO BOWMAN's words. Not to mention the complete WHIFF Reid had vs Marshawn Lynch in the 2013 NFCCG that let Seattle tie the game.
Reid is the steadier player and he's been way better than Dashon since he's been in TB but Dashon when he was here was more of a playmaker. Unfortunately that's where I think the concussions cost Reid he has to play smarter. There was a knock on Reid that in college his tackling style wasn't right he would put his head down and lose sight of the ball carrier. Unfortunately I think that is part of what has been his concussion issues.
Atleast Goldson didn't wreck our best player on defense's knee.....(I was waiting for that response)

It's Reid by a mile....

a student of the game vs a guy who likes to make drive extending penalties,, no contest, dumb question in my opinion

2010: 80 tackles, 5passDef, 1int, 1td, 1sack

There you go. Compare Goldson's first two years with the Niners to Reid's. Or, compare Goldson's last two years on the Bucs to Reid's last two years. Any way you look at it, Reid has more interceptions and more passes defensed. Reid is simply better in coverage and it appears that he also plays smarter.
And you're just gonna ignore the 174 tackles by Dashon compared to Reid's 118 from their first 2 seasons..... and both Dashon and Reid had 4ints in their first season as a starter....

Goldson also had 2 years in the NFL to get some experience before he became a starter so you're not comparing rookies here.

I agree on the cheaper part. We had no choice but to get rid if Goldson at the time, and it was genius to trade up and get Reid. But I enjoyed watching Goldson play more.
