There's no need to rub anything in anyone's face. Niner fans know how it feels to be looking at a Super Bowl win so close and then have your heart broken. It sticks with you for a while. I don't think anybody choked except the play callers - nobody understands a 2nd and goal without giving the ball to Lynch. A defensive player for the Patriots made a fabulous and stunning play and won the game. I actually don't get a lot of jollies watching players' hearts break (now watching Paul Allen stunned and blown away up in his box - that's another story). It even kind of hurts to watch Sherman go from an excited kid's expression to pure pain in a manner of seconds. On the other hand, watching Mr. Serious (Brady) lose his mind and start jumping around like a teenage girl was priceless.
The only thing I saw that I thought was horrible was that ridiculous Baldwin thing in the end zone. That was easily the most classless thing I've ever seen in a Super Bowl. What the hell was he even thinking? It was also annoying to see Sherman dogging on Revis (#24) when Baldwin ran him into a ref for a pick and a TD.
IIRC, this is the first time he's overcome an impressive pass rush to win an important playoff game, and these Seahawk pass rushers have nothing on the NY fronts that destroyed him. Just looking at the numbers is nonsense, because rule changes and the intentional evolution of the game have inflated statistics. Of course, you most likely know all of that already. That's what makes your comment meaningless to me. FWIW, I'd take Joe and Johnny over Tom in a heartbeat. Both of them had real guts to go with their skill.
