They were ready to get rid of him... their offense is Lynch who is one of the best RB in the league and then Wilson scrambling around making plays. I'd like to see them without Lynch and/or Wilson. I'll pass. P.S. They are 29th in the pass, yeah he is an improvement over Harbaugh.

He has a very simple game plan. It' fairly easy to stop, but no one has really stopped them consistently enough to beat them. I would've been ok with him has our OC because he'd have more talent to work with and I'd be curious to see if he could get this offense to produce with his simplified game plans. But I'm not sure about HC.
BTW, what is so bad about having a simple game plan?

Because unless your QB is Peyton Manning, you're probably going to struggle. Bevell's offense works because Lynch is an absolutely dominant physical monster and because Wilson is absurdly elusive, beyond that they don't do anything awe-inspiring on offense. 49ers can do a lot better IMO.

Bevell built a system which seems to fit the players he has got. It is absolutely common to built a system based on the biggest strengths of your players. If you got an o-line which can run-block very well and a RB who has the potential to play like a HOFer, why not use it up to its potential.
Furthermore, you've got a QB who can scramble effectively and who looks like a very good QB at times, coached by Bevell and his QB-coach.
Seattle simply needs a true #1-WR badly, that's all.

As a Hawks fan Bevell has occasional games of brilliance and lots of games of wtf?? Sometimes it feels like he doesn't know the strengths of the team. When he calls slow developing pass routes all day against a team like STL who just massacres the OL every play I wonder what is going through his head. Other games you can see that he can scheme up brilliant game plans (see regular season vs NO last year). Most people at .net would be happy if he left.

Seattle offense is nothing special they get bailed out all by Willow and his scrambling.

The offense has been utilizing the whole field very well too but I know comparing Kaep and Tannehill isn't apples to apples. I don't even know who the guy is but I've noticed the production
Just saying
I actually like this idea. Haven't seen his name brought up before. NFL experience is a question mark. But he was Philly's QB coach when Foles had a huge year. Done a pretty good job coordinating Miami's offense. He's definitely maximized their ability. Lazor is an interesting guy to keep our eye on if Harbs is out.
One year as OC for Virginia (73rd of 120 in scoring) and one year as OC for Miami who is currently #20th in offense (#22 in passing and #10th in rushing). Also last year with Mike Sherman as his OC Tannehill had 23 TDs and 14 INTs for 3,627 yards with a 86.6 QB rating in his first 14 games. This year he has 20 TDs and 9 INTs for 2,817 yards with a 92.2 QB rating in 13 games. So not quiet sure why you would want Lazor?
I look more in terms of where he has coached, under which coaches, and what he did with the talent available to him. I like the fact he's worked under Reeves, Gibbs, Holmgren, and Chip Kelly. Looking at his resume, he's been a part of good offensive staffs. Just to be affiliated with that many quality offensive coaches gives some credibility and makes him intriguing.
I don't really care much for stats. It depends on the talent available to him. He's done a good job in that regard. Nobody expected the Virginia or Miami team to be offensive juggernauts, because they don't have the talent. All you can ask is that he maximizes the talent on the roster, and he's done that in my eyes.
Mike McCarthy led a 2005 49ers offense that was ranked dead last in pretty much every category. It was clear we had the least amount of talent in the league, but everyone mocked Green Bay and McCarthy when they hired him to be their HC, despite his decent track record pre-Nolan. So stats don't mean much if you don't factor in the talent of the team.
I don't necessarily want Lazor. He's just a guy to keep your eye on. I'll say this much, he's way more qualified to run an offense than Greg Roman or perhaps even Harbaugh, and I bet he gets more out of this roster. Miami has a better offense than we do with far less talent.

Sounds exactly like Roman.
IMO, No to Bevell, No To Pep Hamilton (unless luck comes with which he doesn't), No To Tomsula (rah rah stuff didn't work with singletary for long, need to know x's and o's).
Hopefully we just extend Jim and get an entire new o staff minus Rathman (d staff stays exactly the same). Also, need Jim to let that new oc (hopefully pass orientated) to do his own thing a bit and not put the clamps on him and control him or we will end up back where we are now. I'd probably say Fangio would be my 2nd choice after Harbaugh and promote the D staff up. Not sure if I'd still have Fangio call the plays on d or if Donatell or Tomsula would take over.
