Yeah, CBSSports has him listed with a 1.52 10 yard split.

Just for fun, by comparison, Brandin Cooks ran 1.53.

Was at his Pro Day, though. Still pretty impressive.

After doing some research on him, this is how I see things.

Sounds like his mom pushed him to go to ND. He wanted to stay close to home to be with his girlfriend. He committed to ND, then to FSU, then back to ND.

While at ND, he had a rep as a hothead. Started fights with teammates during practice etc. But as a 18 year old looked liked a future superstar going against grown ass men. Played around 260-265lbs. During interviews and on social media, hinted at being homesick and missing his girlfriend. After spring semester, announced his attention to transfer closer to home. ND players had mixed feelings when asked off the record on their stance on his transfer. He rubbed some the wrong way and some were sad to see him go.

Was denied hardship waiver when he transferred to USF. Married his high school sweetheart shortly after in the fall of 2012. Began popping prescription adderal to keep weight down while he wasn't playing. Apparently took it a little
too far as he lost 20 or so lbs, which probably angered the s+c coach lol. During the year off, he could of gotten himself in better shape, as he started out poorly. Once he got his football legs under him, he responded by closing off the year with 4 sacks in the last 4 games, or something close, don't got stats in front of me.

In summary, while immature, he made some mistakes a lot of teenagers make. Heard he recently divorced, although recent pics show they still, atleast, socialize together. We all know that a lot of the time when we are young and due something stupid, it's because of a girl lol. A lot of us like to chastise these young kids and forget, with a little patience and direction, these coaches can turn kids to men and be a positive influence in their lives. Nothing documented leads me to believe Lynch is a lost cause. Well worth a 5th rounder imo. Niners!!!

Good God that's some serious stalking.

Lol. Shut up and take some notes you smelly, no football knowledge having dirty Indian. Bet you're gonna go sell a sh!itty used car to an old lady on fixed income. Don't lie.
Yeah, I stalk the zone too lol.

I lol'd... hard.

Yeah, I'm not impressed with the ND tape either. I can see flashes of something. Reminds me a bit of Cam Johnson. Hopefully he'll be better than him though. Can't wait for pre-season to start!!

Arron Lynch runs like Steven Seagal...

Well, he's a true freshman, so with that in mind, here's what I see:

  • Very quick first step. I hope we're observing reflex speed from watching the center, rather than reacting to snap barks. He's half a second ahead of any of his teammates time and again.
  • Good use of hands to get around or through defenders. If he can draw double and triple teams in the pros, someone else is going to get lots of TFLs and sacks.
  • Pretty good field awareness. There were a couple of plays where he peeled off his rush in anticipation of screens and short throws to pursue the receiver.

Lots of potential to build on, if he can stay focused and motivated.

Steven Seagal is old and fat, I saw him at the music store here in Memphis less than a year ago.He lives out in the suburbs, I think he has a kid in the children's hospital here in town. But yeah, he doesn't run much these days, lol.

Ok well and good, but keep in mind he's regressed since the ND tape. Hopefully he can get his power and ballast back so that he's not so easily pushed off his rush or trucked on a run. I'll avidly watch him as he plays in pre-season, but from what I see of the ND tape and from what I've read of him - I'm expecting *at most* somebody to maybe challenge Skuta or Wilhoite.

I think he looks great rushing the passer and shows discipline in his run lanes, but he definitely looks like he lost his power w/ USF. That being said the kid is 21, i believe. He is still a young buck and with a pro strength and conditioning coach... that actually likes him and shows respect to him... he'll definitely bulk up and could become stronger or as strong as he's ever been. Im worried about pass coverage though idk if he has the change of direction, speed or hips. Well find out...

rush ALynch, ASmith and JSmith from the same side.

VIVA LA NOLAN

PS: where is rikimaru?

Very very good point. I totally forgot about that screwed up Strength and Conditioning coach. Also didn't pay attention to his age. I got him mixed up with one of our older rookies - and had him pegged at age 25 for some weird reason.

That 10 yard split was also faster than Barr's and Barr, the OLB from UCLA, was chosen #9 overall.

He takes on double teams at 265 lbs, and stuffs the running game. He takes on double teams in the passing game. He is the first one off the ball on almost every snap. He has the power to bull rush and the speed to get around the edge when single blocked. He has an extremely explosive first step, and has the ability to stunt very fast, much like Aldon Smith.

Yeah, those are all good signs. and that's what you'd expect from a NFL type player. But to be GREAT.. I don't know if i'm seeing it there. Still hopeful though! I mean maturity has a lot to do with the success of a player, so hopefully that will help his game to over the years

honestly tondiman, I'm with ya. I think Breslin (UDFA) is a better acquisition. Not because I'm an SC guy (and I'm harder on SC players than most), but because there's something in Breslin's eyes that you don't see very often. He reminds me a lot of Kevin Greene.

Obviously, he is 5th round pick for a reason, but that is what I like from a 5th round pick, someone who has a high ceiling, low floor, rather than low ceiling, high floor.
I'm certainly not "expecting" greatness from him, but he sure as heck has a chance.
