Dudes, Hyde looked like he was fired out of a cannon on all of his runs. I couldn't believe how fast he would eat up five yards. I think seeing Gore start all these years has gotten me used to a running back with average speed. If Chris Johnson and Marshawn Lynch somehow had a baby together and created this perfect blend of speed and power, that would be Carlos Hyde.

I loved when they ran Gore on 2 plays, then Hyde on the 3rd and 4th runs. It was a perfect one-two punch to eat up the clock and yards. Hyde could be a huge factor in how far we go this season, especially when we are trying to run out the clock or on the goal line. LaMichael James is on his last legs as a 49er. And don't forget, Marcus Lattimore may be a mid-season activation. I've heard he's an incredible talent, so our running game by the home stretch might be our biggest asset. That's on an offense that's already stacked with other team's number one receivers.

This.

LMJ is still not being used correctly. its like roman has never heard of a screen or a sweep unless its to bruce miller still stoked that hyde is such a beast tho, he hit the hole hard and hes very fast for a dude his size.

Hyde is a fantastic player, but he reminds me of Brandon Jacobs and runs too upright. I was cringing as he struggled to get yardage because his knees were so exposed.

He really looks like a younger and bigger frank gore.

Lattimore runs too upright as well but they can make a career out of their talent

He runs like a freight train. He is gonna be unstoppable in the 3rd and 4th quarters when defenses are worn down

VERY impressive. That run there, as well as his 1st carry of the game, made me jump out of my seat. The explosive power is crazy, dude looked like he was shot out of a cannon.

This guy runs like Gore did in 05 and 06. Honestly, I think he needs more carries like 50/50 or more. Hate to say it and sure Gore gets his yards but maybe he is holding us back. His intangibles and blocking are so important though. With Gore we get a lot of negative and 1 yard carries because he is so patient and waits for holes. That's why he was able to prolong his career he stopped being a bruiser and running over everybody and started going down easier and being patient. With gore we will have how many 0-1 yard carries and then pop one for 10-20. With Hyde we can probably get 3-6 per. In the long run probably would be better off. That being said probably best we just start easing him in more and more, need to stop giving gore 70 percent get him to 45-50. Give Hyde the short yardage stuff Gore hasn't been a short yardage back for many years. And I've been a Gore fan since seeing the way he ran his rookie year so don't go ape on me, I'm just telling it like it is. We might have rid Gore too hard and maybe we would be better off with a more explosive back or at least mixing one in more often.

Edit: and not just saying this because of 1 good game for Hyde I felt it with Hunter back there as well.

Coffee 2009 3rd, Dixon 2010 6th, Hunter 2011 4th, James 2012 2nd, Lattimore 2013 4th, 2014 Hyde 2nd

Thats 6 years in a row wow I would have never guessed that. Every year we don't expect them to draft one and they do.

Brandon Jacobs career was cut short by a knee injury. Hyde has to know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em. I just want Hyde to be our next RB to get 10k in 7 years. i just hope he learns it from Gore.

must admit - he looked very good yesterday. played way "more angry and stronger" than Gore and I wonder if he should take over as the primary back at some point this year, if he continues playing this well.
even when you thought he would be dropped behind or at the LOS, he made positive yards out of it.
