Totally disagree on that...they have a potential $115 million in cap space and if he has a healthy 16 game span doing what he's done when on the field I don't see why the don't resign him.

If he's looking for L bell type money they see ya.

What about the running back that Shanny drafted. I think he's in play if Hyde asks for elite running back money.

The cap will catch up quickly once you add Cousins etc. With Shanny's track record on rb's there's no reason to overpay a guy who's always going to have health concerns. That's not going away even if he has a healthy season this year. If you can get him for a decent contract though it's fine.

Look at ATL they used both RBs and it looks like they're gonna give freeman a good chunk of change. Williams hasn't proven anything.

What's elite RB money anyway? Zeke and fournette both are top end paid RBs right now and that's because of the rookie pay scale lol...RBs don't make a ton of money.

Pay Hyde and have Williams on the cheap for the next 4 yrs...it's not like they burned a top end pick for a RB this yr he was a 4th rd pick

I don't see how he would get McCoy/Martin money...he hasn't had a 1,000 yard season or been fully healthy. Even if he has a good yr I don't see him breaking the bank. Latavius Murray just got 3 yrs $15 million. I could see a Lamar miller type contract for him. IF some team goes all in so be it.

Even with Kirk who's deal most likely would be front loaded it wouldn't destroy our cap space long term.

If he puts up 1200 he's going to get a nice deal somewhere probably in Miller's range. I don't see that being worth it wuth Shanny around and really I'm thinking a few years down the road when Buckner is going to command a 100 mil contract. QB, DE, DT are the most expensive positions. The cap will catch up quickly for us.

It all depends how they make the contracts we got deFo for 4 more yrs (5th yr option) so honestly his contract doesn't come into play with Hyde that much.

If some team is gonna give him bank then yeah move on but I don't see that happening with how RBs are being paid. Hyde might want to stay here in Kyle's system as well.

The other big thing is we'll have to see how he develops as a receiver because once we add Cousins I think Shanny is going to want backs like Freeman, Coleman. Shanny uses his backs extensively in the passing game and as of now Hyde hasn't shown much there. This year I think it's best to have Hyde as we transition the offense but 2-3 years from now? Even at Lamar Miller $ I'm skeptical if he's worth it but we got a year to figure that out.

Nobody is signing or trading for Hyde on franchise tag money, I dont care what he does this year.

The foolishness. There's teams like the Redskins or the Jets who constantly make mistakes. There's going to be a team that would overpay for his services.

True, it's not like he can't catch though....Coleman and freeman weren't big pass catching RBs in college and not until they got used in the passing game was it a known. (Go look at Freeman's receiving stats before kyle was the OC basically the same as Hyde's stats this past yr with around the same targets).

Hyde imo is a better back then Miller the only thing slowing him down is injury. If and that's a big if he can stay healthy I got no problem having him as the feature back for the next couple yrs and Williams being the COP back like freeman/Coleman.

Freeman had 65 carries, 30 catches before Shanny got there. That's a terrible point because he was role player who started 0 games. I do concede the system matters just terrible, terrible example. If he execute the entire offense that may change my view so he'll at least get a shot this year.

I don't see it as a terrible example at all...we're talking pass catchers and he wasn't one until kyle showed up. I'm a FSU fan and he wasn't used in pass catching there either.

Freeman was used as a receiver his rookie year he just didn't see the field that often. 30 catches on 90 touches compared to Hyde's 23 catches on 240 touches. Then Shanny comes and he's at 73 catches on 330 touches but that's full time work.

Like you said system...Hyde hasn't had a issue catching the ball when asked to

Thank you lol. You can settle for less if theyre tagged if im not mistaken.. A 2nd could be fair compensation. Even a 3rd. Franchise tag money for a RB is what 6 mill? Lol. Cmon Phoenix, step your game up, dogg
