Hes actually been terrible this year...
But, most rookie CB get picked on and play poorly. He will get there.
With the way Bethea has been playing, it might be a couple more years before Ward gets a shot at S.

Really hoping he didn't have a setback with the foot - he sat out practice today due to a foot issue. Hoping he's not going to have durability issues going forward.

I'm starting to lean more towards Dontae Johnson rather than Jimmie Ward
Plus Johnson played safety in college

Gotta love when guys pull this chit. We heard the same thing with Aldon Smith and many other players.

I think PFF focus has Ward rated in the bottom 5 of all CBs this season
I mean c'mon the rookie got burned by Colston.

I think ward is much better coming up from the safety position, kinda like Borland playing downhill. Asking him to backpedal every play does him a disservice.
He is not a very good nfl corner right now. He's average and we're trying to win a damn Super Bowl

I figured that the Niners would have learned their lesson re chronic foot issues after the Crabtree experience. Especially with a first round pick. But noooo . . .

To put this politely and in the most truthful way, Jimmie Ward is a boy amongst men.

Some of you make me
Anyhow, I'm sick and tired of Ward and Brock constantly in and out of the lineup. Just be done with it and move Cox inside once and for all. I love him there anyhow b/c he's a ball hawk and can get a lot of INT's and tipped balls there. Now you've got tough, physical CB's like Cully and Johnson on the outside. There is a lot you can do with these two...press, jam press, bump-n-run, etc. coupled with our off coverage schemes.

I think for the most part he has been okay this year...the Cook TD was not just his fault but Reid's as well...I prefer him in the slot and keeping Cox on the outside where he is playing at a pro-bowl level. Cully and Cox on the outside and ward in the middle is the way to go. Not sure the deal with Brock? I mean if he can't play then don't put him out there at all, he has been a liability.
