Seriously, where's AB, can he or anyone else figure out how much money has been paid out to Ward and how much time and how many games he's missed? I mean seriously, how much has this franchise invested in this dude to see absolutely nothing in return?
We have to be the ONLY team that literally pays millions and millions of dollars to hurt and injured players that never put out zero production (in regular season and even off season) in return.
It's comical how even the most casual fan could have told you this about Ward 3 years ago but for some reason, this management group and prior groups thought he was worth it. Unreal.

Hopefully we sign Boston. Or Berry. I know Berry is hurt a lot, but a heck of a player when he's on the field.

LOL, well, we all knew it was coming.....
at least Lynch said they built something into his contract to take into account his injury risk. I guess that's a silver lining. This was the one move this regime has made that made me really question. I hated the re-signing when it happened, like all of us, and knew it was a matter of time before this happened.
Well, at least it happened early enough to kick the tires on a couple vets out there. AC, time to show you're not Ward 2.0

Exactly. i dont understand any logic to that decision - especially given the fact that Ward wasn't signed at that point.
Players who have a tendecy of getting injured in the past, keep getting injured. Ward and Foster are perfect examples of that. I just worry that Jimmy G. might also fall in that category.
The real near-term issue is that Colbert looked absolutely awful last year. It started with taking wrong angles on tackes and mistackling in the first exhibition game last year and continuing.

Injury settlement NOW! I'm obviously overreacting, but this guy obviously has muscular dystrophy.

Q
With as large as the FS and SS market was in FA, the quality of those players and the draft, there was absolutely no reason to resign him, let alone for $5M when nobody in FA wanted him. It was dumb to give him his 5th year option big pay day steal and even more to resign him again.
Cornerback Richard Sherman expected San Francisco's decision-makers to throw their hat in the ring to acquire his former Seahawks teammate.
"If finances make sense, then I'd say we're a major player in it if everything aligns the right way," Sherman said in February.
Things didn't align the right way, and the 49ers were never reported to be serious contenders for Thomas' services. He ended up signing a four-year deal worth up to $55 million with the Baltimore Ravens, becoming the third-highest paid safety in the NFL and the second-highest paid free safety.

I thought it would take till the preseason for him to get injured and be out for the year... shows what I know.
Why is it the GMs that played the position can never figure t out. Living in Denver Elway is the same way with QBs as Lynch is with Safeties.

Hopefull this is the last straw aka wake-up call for KS/JL about this guy.
He's totally injury prone and will NOT last a full season Training Camp - let alone a full season.
