I hope they draft a hot shot rookie to replace him this year.. even if healthy. the thought of him playing this year should terrify everyone,

Ummmm, what Mandela Effect is this? Every time he's on the field he's been complete garbage.
Oh boy it's even worse, Jimmie Ward - QB rating when Safety snaps only:
— Football Analysis (@DataNiner) March 21, 2019
2018 140.5
2017 156.3
166 snaps which is quite a small sample, but it's asking for a significant upturn and being healthy. https://t.co/ylhHqm8pQA

I don't get where the thought of Ward being a good safety comes from. Sure that's his college position, but I haven't seen anything from his safety play that stands out. I still think his best spot is slot CB where he can use his athleticism to follow shifty slot WRs around and his physicality as a run defender from the slot. Putting him in space is not his strong suit.

I too and bewildered at why all his coaches have thought so highly of him.

I can't remember if PFF even gave him good ratings either. And they're usually very generous with their ratings. Just look at how they fluff Arik Armstead's stats.
