ehh, the game clincher was the 3rd down completion to Johnson on Bellore. Once that happened, I knew it was over barring a shank from their kicker. Fitz is one of the best in the game, even at his age. Ward held him to 52 yards. That's phenomenal. Everyone just sees the numbers Fitz ended with and assumes that was all on Ward but it wasn't. Not even half was against Ward

Yah 52 yards plus about 4 penalties.

We saw Ward + Robinson at CB together for all of about 5 minutes this season until the injury bug killed them in the face.

Looking forward to seeing both start and see how they are doing after a few games together (once 100% healthy). Might be a great indicator for next year...keep both outside or keep Robinson and move Ward to FS (with Tartt) and draft/pick up an outside CB to pair with Robinson (or Redmond/Johnson/Reaser?).

Ditto. Although I think Wards going to be a monster at CB strength wise, might struggle against length though. Hope Redmond lives up to his potential then we are set at CB for a long time.

I'd rather he play aggressive and get a few penalties, because what eventually happens is the aggressive corners get a rep for solid play, then they start getting refs to allow them to get away with things that CBs without that rep don't get away with.

Yes keep racking up penalties and getting beat TDs. Great pick he's so awesome.

Ward should already be our FS right now with Reid at strong. In Camp, they said they wanted our 11 best and Bethea is not 11th best.

Our starting corners should be Johnson and Robinson. Ward at FS.

There should be a competition next Camp between Tartt and Reid.

I just don't see how the coaches can justify having Bethea and Brock on the field. If it is because Tartt may not know the defense, well Bethea lack of ability to finish tackles is horrendous and it doesn't even matter if he is in position.

This I think Ward is actually playing well for never playing on the outside...he should be a FS ball hawking the field.

Brock will be gone (he's had his highs and lows currently 18th ranked CB) I do think we need a bigger CB opposite of Robinson next yr I'd go after someone in FA like bouye. There are a ton of really good DBs in the draft as well.

Ward/Reid/Tarrt as our safeties

Robinson/Redmond/Jonhson/ FA/Reaser/draft pick

Totally agree!!!
I don't see DJ in the long term future of this team The guy has barely played in 2 years. 2 totally different staffs. One staff had Acker and Reaser ahead of him. And the current staff has Reaser Davis and Robinson ahead of him this year. And Probably Redmond as well.

It's certainly a mystery especially in this press scheme...which he'd be ideal for. Maybe it's his speed? Ability to play the ball in the air?

I mean, we had Mangini and O'Neil as DC's so, there is a slight possibility the DC/DB coaches aren't that sharp?

True but at the same time a lot of folks loved the move to Acker and nobody should be questioning Robinson and Ward being ahead of him. Now Brock and Reaser are a different story. I think we will see DJ either growing into a starter of becoming a back up for another team.
Why not just go with 3 FS and run a permanent cover 3? I mean, if we are talent heavy at FS, why not? Then use a nickel CB or SS for the flat.

FS------------FS-----------FS
--------ILB----------ILB-------
OLB-------------------------CB/SS
------DE---NT---DE--OLB

SEA is able to shut the deep ball down, especially the middle because of Earl Thomas' range. I seriously think Ward could have that type of range.
Jimmy is a baller, IDGAF what anyone says. You don't have to be the biggest DB to play the position well. I was skeptical of the pick in the beginning especially coming from Northern Illinois but he's getting better every year. Much better than Brock.

4 breakups is good!

If he played for the cawkSuckers he would've committed 6 penalties but only called for one...
