Not in a gang, but both could be gang signs. If you study up, some gangs have literally created entire languages out of hand gestures.

Word. That is the unfortunate assumption.

This.

By the way people should think twice before drafting DeAnthony Thomas Oregon. He is Snoop´s homie. He has to be dangerous

Is Nipsey Hussle a Crip ? Yes. Same goes for Snoop. That alone and the fact Jackson coming from that area alone does not make him a gang member.

On a side note: If Jackson would be a member of the Rollin 40´s Crips he would not be wearing a shirt with a P which could stand for Rollin 40´s Piru which is a blood gang in the same area. Throwing up a Crip sign and wearing a Blood sign makes no sense.

What is happening in this thread here is Mike Florio logic !

After Aaron Hernandez, teams are apparently cracking down on this sort of stuff. This is one of the reasons being speculated for Philly being eager to let Jackson go.

"So it seems like the reason why the Eagles would want to get rid of Jackson is because of some off the field issue(s). According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, that seems to be the case. Look what McLane had to say in a recent column:

NFL sources have indicated that the Eagles decided to move on from Jackson after his South Philadelphia home was burglarized in early January."

"The real elephant is the room here, however, is Jackson's behavior and it's not about his diva-like attitude, his complaints about assistant coaches or his previous belly-aching over money.

Recently, TMZ Sports unearthed a picture of Jackson flashing gang signs with rapper Nipsey Hussle. In the photograph, Jackson was clearly shown throwing a hand signal for the Rollin' 40s Crips, a street gang from the west side of South Los Angeles, Jackson's hometown.

It was the second time in recent months the 2009 All-Pro made that mistake. He also was seen throwing up a Crips gang sign at Washington Redskins defensive back DeAngelo Hall on the field back in September of last season.

Jackson also paid homage to his gang by naming his record label "Jaccpot Records" with the Cs standing for Crips. Meanwhile, in the video of a song titled "Diamonds on My Neck," featuring another famous former crip, Snoop Dogg, DeSean repeatedly threw similar gang signs.

Jackson's apologists correctly say the mere appearance of impropriety means nothing and point to the fact that while his behavior can be described as boorish at times, the star receiver has never gotten into any major off-the- field incidents.

Two league sources, however, confirmed to The Sports Network that an early January burglary in which Jackson was robbed of about $200,000 in cash, $125,000 in jewelry and a handgun raised some serious red flags within the Eagles organization.

It's completely unfair to bring up the name of Aaron Hernandez when discussing the Jackson situation save for one fact -- the Patriots ignored Hernandez's reported gang affiliation for far too long and unknowingly enabled the behavior which eventually put Hernandez in prison, awaiting trial on murder charges.

Who cares? We don't need a gang-banger on the 49ers. Hell, we might have a few, and if so that's enough. In any event, we don't want him and don't need him to win.
STAY CRIPPIN CUH!

I read the article again. After three readings, I could not find enough substance to justify the assumption that DeSean Jackson is a gang banger.

I am an anti-fan of Jackson, but unless the claims made in the article are substantiated relatively rapidly, I suggest that this thread be locked. There is an existing thread about Jackson and this thread adds next to nothing.
still want him, lol

That's a pretty low standard when looking at players. These guys are role models, and should be expected to act like someone we as fans would want our kids to emulate. It's disappointing that so few seem to get it. I look at the difference between Patrick Willis and Aldon Smith as an example.

P.S really like that shirt he has on

I don't care so much about the gang rumors. I don't want his attitude or his SALARY. This team can't afford to take a chance on him with so many other important players that will need to get paid in the next two years.

SOOO WOOOO
I don't like Jackson, but there is nothing about that picture of Jackson that makes me assume he has gang affiliations. Why would he, anyway? And I believe the sign Kaepernick is making there is the sign of the "okay." Very ominous indeed!

It's just the man picking on an innocent guy who can't stop himself from posting photos of himself throwing up gang signs over and over again. The reason why he never puts a 'k' after a 'c' is 'cuz nobody taught him to spell good' either.

. I don't know if he's just some wannabe or he's really into that lifestyle because of where he grew up but after the whole Aaron Hernandez debacle, you're nuts if you don't think the league has become super-sensitive to s**t like this.

He may or may not be in a gang, however a suspicious burglary that according to the writer's sources raised alarms within the Philly organization along with constantly throwing up gang signs, including in the middle of a football game, might be all the motivation that the Eagles need to part ways with him.

Perception is reality, if you pose and act like you're in a gang, don't be shocked if some people actually start to believe it.
