Low risk possible high reward, what is there not to like? Seriously. If someone has a logical explaination please tell me why this is a s**tty deal.

What do we have to lose?

One our 4 supplemental 7ths who are only going to get poached off our practice squad?

I think a lot of people are judging Martin on his issues in Miami. He was on a rudderless team with a 'Lord of The Flies' mentality in the locker room, I don't blame him for any issues he had there. If he steps up, works his ass off and performs like he showed consistently at Stanford, this could be a HUGE steal for the 49ers down the road. This is his best and potentially last chance for success in the NFL. He couldn't ask for a better situation and he needs to make the most of it. If he gets his head right and gets back to being the guy he was while at Stanford, there's no reason why he can't pull it off.

Sounds like a large group of Incognitos.

At one time, Boone was Rudderless

If there is a lasting legacy of the Nowin / Sing days it is that players CAN and DO turn around here

Vernon matured
Glenn Dorsey played to his potential
Ahmad Brooks played to his enormous potential to become an All Pro and Bro Bowler
TJE became a player
RJF became a player

Just so many guys have come here and have become what they should have been, what they want to be

That comes from the work ethic of Cowboy, Vernon, Gore, P-Willy, Staley, etc.

We take a T-Brock and make him a playa

The work ethic in this locker rooms turns priority UDFA Ian Williams from a priority free agent to a PS player to a starter

That is why guys like Marquadt and guys like Bykowski you just never know

Give Martin a clean slate

Exactly. Quality of competition. If an Olineman slips on technique, this is what Aldon do. Now if the second string DLineman from OAK did this to Martin then we can worry.

Lord of the flies mentality? Because 3 of his fellow teammates tried to toughen him up they get that analogy? It's football, not ballet.
Harbaugh knows him, Harbaugh wants him, team needs another OG/OT...what more do you need to know?

Exactly this. For a damn conditional 2015 7th rd pick. Stupid to b***h about this.
I'm sure getting trucked by the Smith's every practice will do wonders in rebuilding his self-confidence.

LOL....at "toughen up." 3 of his teammates constantly harassed the s**t out of him non-stop, to the point where it became a negative to his performance on the field. Pretty sure he'll be able to get by just fine in the 49ers locker room without needing some douchebag who's been kicked off or ran off from every team he's ever been on to "toughen him up."

No doubt... works for the other guys on the line, as well and vice versa ("iron sharpens iron")
