THAT BEING SAID, does it NOT look like we screwed Daniel?

We get him to sign a team friendly discount...which he agreed to (I'm sure to play with Jimmy and be part of something special they are building here).... then he has this cheap contract, we trade him... and now he the Dolphins get him for this team discount to play with Tannahill and Cutler

If didn't bring him back, I'm sure he could've got more on the open market, ESPECIALLY if thr Dolphins were going to release Pouncy.

I don't know man... that whole sequance doesn't look good.

He wouldn't got more in FA. He should thank Lynch for that contract he has gotten.

how did we screw him? lol we basically gave him to a team that just released their center and now he has a secure starting job for the foreseeable future.
LOL.

Kilgore did not sign a team friendly deal. He signed a Kilgore friendly deal, and then acted like it was team friendly.

I was worried when they gave him that contract they were goin budget with the OL, but with Richburg there, Kilgore is obsolete. He cant play G.

Basically the club view Kilgore as an insurance policy in case they did not get their guy in FA. Nothing wrong with that, and they gave Kilgore the trade he wanted.

This is a business.

But the writing was on the wall as soon as Richburg was signed. And as another sign of Lynch's handling of things one of the articles noted that the $2 million dollar roster bonus he was due wasn't scheduled until tomorrow, 3 days after the beginning of the league year, so that if the team found somebody better in FA they could move on before they had to pay the bonus. Smart move by the team and everything works out for the best. We get a center that has been rated as one of the top five in the league and a favorite webzone whipping boy gets to move on closer to home with his salary being taken off the books here and handed to the Dolphins who just lost their starting center. Win, win I'd say.

Best and most liked are two different things...

LOL. This is a joke. It goes to show Lynch and his front office is inexperienced.

Come on, you extended the guy then you go and draft a younger model without talking to Kilgore about your plans? Of course the dude is unhappy when you do him like that by shunting him aside to guard. Who wouldn't be?

As a result, boys and girls, we are back to square one, still short of linemen. They basically got over-confident, may be they should have gone for Norwell or Pugh?

Some people accept competition and it makes them better, some people don't. If you can't compete, Miami is a better place for you. Sherman probably would have had Kilgore crying by the end of practice with that kind of attitude.

Yeah, my bad on that one. But the broader point remains the same

When I read that (Kilgore winner of award) I had to check. It's true, Kilgore won the award last season. Zane Beadles won it in 2016. Now I know that award doesn't mean much.

Some aspect of it must be linked to playing time....like, "of the lineman that states the most games, who was most valuable"

" The award is meant to honor those offensive linemen who have best represented the courage, intensity and sacrifice displayed by the late Coach McKittrick during his 21 years of service with the 49ers."

It's not just about playing ability, but about effort.

Dumb horrible move and message sent by Lynch and Shanny.

So anybody can just trot in the office ask for a trade and it's granted?! F that. And we get nothing for him. What happened to competition? What happened to depth? How about being a MANAGER John, and not just offing guys for the sake of it.

We can't afford to lose offensive line pieces. And Kilgore is our 2nd longest tenured guy. TERRIBLE. Casted away Bow after disrespecting him and now we're starting Brock Coyle. If Lynchburg head doesn't hold up we're F'd.

Disagree...it says buy in or you're gone and that's how you run a disciplined organization.

Jimmy will get over it the first time he realizes he can step into a pass without pressure.
