Jerry Jones wants more playoff teams.

what's funny is if there were two more teams in the NFC playoffs this year the cowboys still don't make it in.

Arizona (better record)
Bears (head to head win vs Dallas)

Maybe he wants to go to a format that has the NFC East with two automatic seats? Haha, what does Jones do during the playoffs? He spends so much time around the cowboys and the sporting news lives for NFL playoffs. He must be in hell.

Hilarious coming from him, but I've said this for a long time. It's patently absurd for 10-6/11-5 teams to miss the playoffs while 7-9/8-8 teams get in just because they were in a crappy division. As long as the NFL has that silly system, they might as well expand to 14 teams. I'd prefer to keep it at 12 and seed purely by W/L record, but that's another convo.

then why have divisions? if you win your division you've got to be in the playoffs.

I strongly disagree and would get rid of divisions and merge conferences, but I know it'll never happen. Most people are too emotionally invested in division and conference rivalries for us to have a logical playoff system.

Go to the NBA format so nobody b***hes about who gets in or about losing in the second round after a bye because your team was too rusty

i thought it was hilarious in an interview where he said that if he hired a GM, the personnel decisions would still go though him anyways.

kinda missing the point there jerry.......

He does have a point he does sign the checks. He wants total control so he can say "I am a football god". That's why he won't fire Garrett. He is so afraid another team will pick him up and win. He doesn't want another team to benefit from his efforts to groom a coach.

Too much ego.

Which is why the Cowgirls will continue to disappoint. They are a modern day version of the 80's+ Raiders. They will find a bone every now and then and have that season which will re-enforce in Jerry that his model is right, but much like Al Davis, he will continue to miss faaaar more often than he will hit.

I love the NFL playoffs the way they are. You CAN have too much of a good thing...
You devalue the importance of winning regular season games by increasing the number of playoff teams.
Its fine how it is. Do not change a thing.

You'll always need divisions for scheduling purposes. Have to allow teams to play other teams close geographically for fairness in regards to travel schedules.

Yeup..and division winners should make the playoffs. Where I disagree is - they get an automatic home game. That should be based on record. Why reward them twice to win a division with a s**tty record.

It's not logical at all. It's actually the opposite of logical. You'll have 49ers travelling to East coast for 8-10 games a year if not more.

I'd be okay with doing away with byes for the #1 and #2 seeds.

I'm not sure how I feel about no. 1 seed playing no. 8 seed

Then you would have to add 2 more teams in each conference. If all 6 teams played in the initial round, there would only be 3 left to play the next round.

I'll take that patently false straw man as an admission that you have no logical argument.
