Tell that to Cam, Allen, Trubisky, Jackson, etc. Those guy's would be nothing without the option.

I'm sure Tom Brady running the pistol would've had the same result.

I hate how some fans ignored that we had arguably the worst offensive line in 49er history in Kaeps final years and acted like it was all on Kaep. Also who was his best target? Quinton Patten. Just a joke of an offensive around him to judge how he would have done.

I don't agree with all of his off the field stuff but it's annoying to me how people said he was trash. So was the whole offense!

Amazing what a decent QB does for a mediocre offense though amirite?
Crabs would do well with a solid QB throwing to him. Crabs has good hands. His speed left him after that ACL injury. IDK about paying him top multi millions tho.

He would do great with the packers, or Saints.

Its all semantics really at this point.

To me, saying a highly drafted played "fell well short" of what was expected means he was absolutely a bust for us. The majority of Crabs success happened post 49ers. So I have zero problem with Niner fans calling him a bust. He was ok with us. Nothing close to what was expected.

But like I said, its all about how you want to label someone.

I've said it several times. My friend pointed out early in 2012, that Kaep didn't read the defense before the snap. I shrugged it off thinking he would grow into that. Fast forward to 2014 the year before the off the field stuff. We are playing the Rams and they don't have a DB on Torrey Smith. He was doing jumping jacks trying to get Kaeps attention. What does Kaep do? Run the ball up the gut for a yard or 2, could have been a 95 yard Td. That was the moment I gave up on him. That had nothing to do with the OL, receivers, or the injured defense. That was a QB too lazy to do his job and look over the defensive alignment. And that's not even going into his inability to read the defense after the ball is snapped.

I've actually read that harbaugh and him both saw it, but Jim wanted him to run it just to spite Jed. I base this on absolutely no evidence.

Didn't that happen when Tomsula was the head coach?

I never really understood why he was rated so high and had so much hype. That play that he had in college really boosted his stock. But when you looked at his college tape, he was physical and had good hands, but nothing too special. He didnt get great separation, at 6'1 hes not gonna overpower NFL DBs, and i doubt he ran anything lower than a 4.6...He was talanted, but not top 10 picks talented. He had 2nd round talent written all over him.

I did a keg stand when we drafted him.

Boldin was done. He was like the 5th receiver on the Lions when he left. Sad part is he probably was our best in 2015 lol
