Has anybody been able to lower their bill with a year left on their contract ?

I told them I wanted to be treated like a new customer, they said they can't do that. So I had it disconnected (directv) at about 8 am and 3 hours later they called and gave me all premium channels free for 3 months and the Sunday Max free.

usually its a 2 year contract ?

how did or why did you get a 3+ year contract ?

I had a two year contract. I added a extra receiver when we moved (1 year into contract) not knowing it added a year on to my existing contract. I was never told this when I requested a new receiver so I'm a littl ticked about that. I should of known to ask.
we didn't get extended, we did the same thing when we moved (added the Genie Receiver)

That's interesting I'm gonna have to bring that up when I call
Happy to report, at least for me, that I have the NFL Ticket for FREE this year according to two DirecTV CSRs I spoke too, 1 in Billing, and 1 in Retentions Department.

I didn't have too, thought I just agreed to a new 2yr deal last year when I upgraded my Genie and other HD DVR box, but I was told due to being a long time customer I got it free.

They usually will offer it free for a 1yr or 2yr commitment from you, that way they still make up what they lose by giving it free, as if you leave you pay a ETF, or of course whatever you pay monthly for your service.

Hopefully this sticks, and I do get it free this year, they told me I got everything free, Max included, so we'll see.

Has anyone's NFL Ticket renewed yet? As mine says 0.00 for NFL Ticket 2015 and also for NFL Ticket Max
Hell ya. Every penny.

Did NFL.COM do away with NFL preseason live?

Nevermind, they merged game pass and preseason live and it's now more expensive than ever.

Last year, all preseason games were on nfl network.

Saw most of the Niner games on regular TV and I am from Connecticut. As long as they are good, I assume it will stay that way
For the OP, I say it's worth it. Especially if you can get the MAX package where you get the Red Zone channel and mobile access. I use to be one of those guys at the bar every Sunday/Monday spending too much money on beer and over priced bar food. The atmoshphere was the only thing worth until a rival fan gets out of line. Plus your not always guaranteed great seats or sound. I enjoy watching our games at home more than ever.

Plus our contract with Direct TV ended last month so of course I re upped for another 1 yr contract with the Sunday ticket MAX for free. My TV is great and my couch is comfortable. Surround sound and 12 pack of Stella Artois. I'm good.
