As much as I've given up on Boone, you dont want to make a poor emotional business decision. He's a starting right guard that can serve as insurance in a pinch. He also comes at a very reasonable price. Play the season out and let him walk. Hopefully he gets beat out in camp.

His off season workouts were limited due to our gross mismanagement of his shoulder injury in 2013. He has been healthy so I expect better conditioning and play from week one forth

Its not like he is in injury prone before that. Started every game before that.

Carrying extra weight can lead to injuries and make recovery more difficult.

This is not news. He already made it known he's not attending any of the voluntary OTA's. However, Boone and Anthony Davis are really getting behind the learning curve of the new OL coach's blocking schemes. It really sucks if Davis is having chronic injury problems.

So done with Boone. You played like ASS last year and you aren't in here at camp with a new coaching staff and scheme? Yes, "it's early" but he's already behind. And what's up with Davis? You too buddy!
Boone will not take part in any of the mandatory offseason workouts, a source close to Boone toldCSNBayArea.com. Boone is seeking a long-term contract extension. There is no explanation for Davis' absence during the mandatory portion of the team's offseason program.
On the flip side, THIS confirmation news is outstanding!!!!
The 49ers are implementing a new system under offensive line coach Chris Foerster, who replaces Mike Solari. The 49ers worked extensively on zone-blocking techniques before their workout on Thursday.

WTF Boone......
He pulled the same s**t last year, and we caved (which we rarely do). Gave him a fair raise for the remainder of his contract until he hits free agency. Now he's holding out AGAIN!?
I'm done this guy. He's not a fit for the new ZBS anyways. Trade him and get whatever compensation you can.

Problem is they caved because he's a Baalke favorite. I can't see them trading him and not working out an extension. I'm just not a fan of keeping players who clearly don't have the work ethic and then rewarding them for holding out.

Sit his ass all year, dismiss him from team activities and see how well he does in FA next year.

After what he did last year, I'd have to say I'm stunned. What leverage does he have? He was horrible last year. I didn't even think he was going to crack the starting lineup this year.

Actually he played well as the season went on...having Martin starting next to him didn't help.

I guess I just saw him turn around and watch his man smash Kaepernick more than enough to be fed up with him.
