Interesting to see how critical you are of our defense, which is #1 in scoring and top 5 in every other important statistical category, and special teams yet you refuse to place any criticism upon our passing game, which has been arguably the most unproductive facet of our team at this point in the Harbaugh era. Did you go on this much of a rant about Alex Smith after he threw 4 picks and no touchdowns over a two game span or did you decide that you would let the season play out before you made any grandiose statements about it? Maybe you should cut the rest of the team that much slack too.

Our run defense is just as good. Bradshaw has gotten garbage yards at the end of the game. Marshaq Lynch is pretty tough, and Stephan Jackson is bound one good game especially in a drawn out overtime game.
Don't Worwy
Last year we had momentum the whole season. This year we don't. There is a mysterious ebb and flow in this game. Why does Atlanta all of a sudden emerge after a number of years of mediocrity. Agree about last year being one in which we were always the underdogs and had something to prove. This year the psychology is reversed. We don't have that adrenaline generated from not wanting to be below average and losing all the time. Now motivation has to come from a different place. This is a really important last half of the season for Harbaugh and the team. They have to find a way to turn the burner up again. We are facing an immensely more difficult schedule than we did last year second half. Chicago, New England, a New Orleans team that is on fire and at home, Seattle at Home. This will be an amazing test. If they can win the division and get into the playoffs it will be a triumpn IMHO. Seattle has a much, much easier schedule.

We know our pass game can look weak at times....so we are counting on our defense more to give us a chance to stay in games... But the D needs to start playing like its their last game

When the defense is #1 in scoring I have a hard time convincing myself that they are the ones that need to step up
I feel like everyone has forgotten that the 2012 49ers have only lost 2 games

Seahawks, Cards, and Rams board opinion: "I hate the 49ers, they're definitely gonna win the division still..."
Packers, Falcons, Bears, and Giants board opinions: "49ers are most likely going to lock up the #2 seed for their second consecutive year."
49erswebzone opinion: "Let's just end the season now, we suck, we're not gonna do anything, we're garbage, worst team in the NFC, I don't wanna see another game until next year, cause we suck, oh and our QB who is #3 in passing stats/#8 overall sucks. -I won't even care to spell Frank Gore's last name right when I start a topic, cause this team f**king sucks."

If those blowout wins were against decent teams then I would agree...but that is the reason why they have that rank....still have the bears, saints and pats coming up

Um the last time I checked points per game was a summation of all of your games not a few select games that you think are the best measuring sticks. Check the other teams with the best PPGA average and you will find that they all have a few games that bring their average way down. You speak as if we gave up a boatload of points in our 2 losses when in reality we lost the 2 games we lost because we couldn't score on offense not because we laid an egg on defense.

Nope can't stop the run, can't pass the ball, and apparently we don't know how to cover a punt
Talk about overreacting.

The defense is still 2nd overall in total yardage. But I'll give you the special teams sucking. And the offense is definitely better than last year.

Just look at the defensive stats in all categories the last 3 games and things are not getting better

The whole NFL is a joke. Gone are the days of dominant teams. Any team can be beat at any time. Just get into the playoffs. We could prob beat anyone (other then @NO) and can also be beat by anyone (or tie). If we had a top QB things might be different.

In our last 3 games we have allowed 33 total points, which is an average of 11 PPG, which is 3 points below our league leading average of 14 PPG on the season. In only 1 of our past 3 games did we actually allow an offensive touchdown. Also, we have allowed less than 10 points in 4 of our 9 regular season games. That is stellar defense my friend.
If I wanted to statistically isolate 3 games of my choice to prove a point I could make the 49ers look like the best defense that has ever played in the NFL. They have allowed the FEWEST total points in the NFL. If our offense had scored the most points in the NFL by this time this season would you be trying to point to a 3 game stretch and say that we really aren't that good? My money is on no.

TOP, rush yards, pass yards all are increasing from the last three games, fortuanatly we did play juggernaut offenses that score points
So I'm not really nit picking...buit you want to add up the whole season....you got to look at the recent and look at what's ahead
