Hawaii explores starting NFL developmental league

lol, where are they going to play outside of O'ahu? Our high school stadiums here on the Big Island are small even by high school standards.

i dunno. war memorial stadium i think should be ok on Maui. they played the Hula Bowl there for a few years.
If the league does approve this, i'm pretty sure the NFL would be giving a lucky high school on some islands some good money to expand their stadiums. just like how UH only split the cost of the field turf in aloha stadium with the NFL.

I thought the USFL was already planning on starting up again as a developmental league. Games to be played in the NFL offseason.

nothing wrong, but only issue i see would be if it would survive in a small market.

Interesting idea. I think the NFL needs some form of developmental league. There are a lot of fringe players who could benefit from playing week in week out.
